The numbers and contrast are big and bold so that I don’t need the perfect light or have to be super close to the lock in order to turn the dial to my combo. My locker is on the bottom row, so for me this is a plus. It opens easily, shuts easily and again, being able to see the numbers without squatting down to the ground is a big plus for me. **Q: Does this have a ring with letters, or only numbers?**
A: Mine had 5 rings.  One with letters, the other 4 all numbers.

**Q: Do you have it in black?**
A: I have one with black rings and white prints.

**Q: how does one reset a combination on the lock?**
A: Put the combination in and one of the ends will be able to slide off so you can tale the individual pieces off and put them in the order you want.

**Q: Stopped working... locked in the unlocked position. i can't get the arm to swing. i haven't forgotten my code. sigh. any suggestions?**
A: When my lock got stuck I used wd40 and it loosened everything up.  It got a little too loose so use the oil sparingly.

It's clunky. This is a heavy lock with huge, toothed spinning rings; it's a bit cumbersome to use. But it's incredibly helpful being able to choose a number that's easy for me to remember! The numbered rings are plastic and overall it's probably not the sturdiest lock in the world, but it's fine for the gym.
