The book itself was way better than I expected. I felt like it was much needed character growth for Chaol because the rest of the characters had gotten their own arcs and development and Chaol was sort of left behind in the events of the first book. So it was a good thing to see his journey toward finally catching up with the other characters.The book was a little stretched out and predictable but it is setting up the next one so that's one nice thing to be excited about.
