INKBIRD Digital Food Thermometer with IR Detector and Timer 3-In-1 Multifunctional Meat Thermometer Handy Foldable Probe High Accuracy Instant Reading Temperature Alarm for Cooking Baking Grilling

This is a very handy multi-functional thermometer that includes a 5” foodgrade foldable stainless steel probe as well as an infrared temperature sensor. It supports preset settings of five different types of meat (chicken, pork, beef, lamb and turkey), and five “doneness” settings (rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done). It also includes custom settings. The timer includes an alarm when the preset temperature has been reached, and can be set for as long as 990 minutes (16.5 hours) in ten minute increments. The infrared temperature measurement helps avoid touching the food, which is safer and more hygenic. Using the probe or the infrared sensor, both the internal as well as the external temperatures of the meat or food can be quickly measured. It also includes a “Hold” button to preserve the reading. The probe readout time is quite quick, about 2-3 seconds. The probe temperature range is -58.0 F – ~572 F (-50.0 C - ~300 C), while the Infrared Temperature range is -58.0 F - ~482 F (-50.0 C - ~200 C). The accuracy is 1.0 F (0.5 C). The probe can be set to read either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The probe is magnetic so it can easily be temporarily attached to an oven, refrigerator or microwave. The battery is rechargeable, using a lithium battery which can be fully charged in about 1 hour. The warranty is two years. The unit is quite ergonomic and all the buttons can be used by one hand, leaving the other hand free. This is a great, portable unit that can be easily used for a variety of different purposes, in addition to cooking your favourite meals. For example, I find it very useful to quickly measure mash temperatures while homebrewing. The long 5” probe allows me to quickly penetrate deeply into the mashed grain to obtain a more representative temperature than I could at the surface. I highly recommend this well-designed multi-functional Thermometer.

I have used a lot of Inkbird products in the past, so I also had high hopes going into this one. I cook a lot and a probe thermometer like this is an invaluable friend in the kitchen. This one really does it all though - you can set alarms with it, probe temp, and use the infrared laser for ambient temp, not to mention get settings for different meat doneness. This will be replacing my old Inkbird thermometer. Great product.

Received this today and right away put it to work. Made some chicken in a sauce- the quick temperature check was important as it cooked. I’m really happy with the speed- as my other digital thermometer takes a very long time to come to the final number, often impacting the outcome of the food. The IR reader is great for our pizza stone- and it easily sticks to the side of the microwave so it’s always within reach. This is a fantastic product. For the price point- you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this unit to have in my travel trailer. Within 2 months and12 uses at best it will not turn on. Of course being outside of the return window (30 days) there is nothing I can do but write a review.

I love the speed at which you get a response for the temperature readings in both the probe temp as well as the infrared readings. This works great on the bbq which I used it for and gave perfect readings on internal meat temps as well as surface temperatures.
