I was probably doing it all wrong but there was no "reset" button on the back. It is in the front and you just cover the "hole" at the top. Eventually I had to unplug it and plug it back in. I did get it to work and it is perfect for what I need. I am a caretaker for my mom and sometimes through no fault of my own she ends up alone at night. I have all the emergency stuff for her but with dementia I do not know if she will use it so I bought this to check in on her. I thought I read where it will sync with up to 5 phones. Has anyone else tried this? I would like my brother and sister to be able to look in on her too.
