Review: Works better than the original Allen + Roth remote - Update 6/2024: About a month later, still working great. Enough better than the original (when original one was new) I wish I'd bought it years ago. Original review: This was a straight replacement of my original remote. The old Allen + Roth remote used a rather weird 12 volt battery that is mildly hard to find. It also tended to use that 12V battery up fairly quickly. I think it drained it even when not in use. It also seem to be very picky about where it was located near the fan, the new one works from across the room with no problems. It was pretty easy to get this new one to work. All I had to do was move the internal dip switches to the same pattern as the old remote. As soon as I did that it did the lights, fan speed, etc. I may eventually try to use a rechargeable 9 volt for the new remote. It matters how fast it uses up the 9 volt battery. Bottom line: I think that I'm going to be happy with this new remote, if nothing else not having to get the weird tiny 12 volt battery every time I need to replace it will be easier. 9 volt = I have a bunch around
