Will the s9 or t9 work?** A: 4" from the top of your receiver means only 2.5" from the top of the AIRCOM S9. This may be too little clearance for a top-exhaust unit. You say "enclosed cabinet." I assume one side is open. The hot air needs to vent somewhere. If this is true then go with a front or rear exhaust system instead. The AIRCOM S10 is the front-exhaust version and S8 is rear-exhaust. Also, I like the S-Series because it offers all the control over the fans that I require. The T-Series costs more and seems a little overkill. Unless, however, you really like the LCD display. **Q: Will this work in automobile applications** A: It works off of 120. You should call the company and ask them if they have fans for automotive applications. **Q: does anyone use these fans in a stack? in between 2 components (amp, fan unit, avr for example)?** A: As long as you have proper clearance I don't see why it wouldn't cool ok. I think it pulls air upwards better than pushing air but I have used it to push air up thru an amp. **Q: Have a receiver in a cabinet with 3.5" space behind it to back of cabinet or about 5" above it to a glass shelf. Top or rear exhaust unit is better ?** A: This unit exhausts from the top and I have about 1 inch above the unit. It works perfectly. I’ve had no problems with the receiver overheating, since I purchased the fan.
