The materials used seem strong and everything well constructed. I found the instructions provided pretty well useless for a 'beginner' and it took me about 10-15 minutes of trial and error before I learned how to use it. I've included a couple of pictures that show how I made it work for me and have since found a couple of Videos on a well known platform that explain things well. I've now put the strap to test in earnest and can confirm that it works fine.
