Would a cat be able to push the door open with these in place?** A: They are amazingly strong. You must ensure that they are installed with sufficient offset to ensure they hold the door together and not too far apart (I let the magnet in our door head project down as far as I could). Our moggie used to push the door open but not anymore! **Q: Suitable for a fire door?** A: No, it does not comply with fire regulations. You need a standard door lock and a self closing device. Generally speaking, sliding doors (which this type of catch is intended for ) cannot operate as fire doors. **Q: Would these work to hold a small hinged table flap up? One would be in the flap, the other in the wooden upright the flap is hinged onto.** A: These catches are really strong. I think the catch would hold it. It hold the door closed to the winter coats cupboard which is really full. **Q: I have a metal framed sliding wardobe door that keeps opening.
