I'm taking an old rug out & found nice hardwood underneath - need to get the staples out.** A: Yes it will work if staple is high enough off floor. I have used it for that. My house had carpeting over hardwood floors and I had to remove the staples holding the padding. If the same problems I had, you will also need a fine blade flat tip screwdriver (to gently pry up staples not high enough) and a vice grip plier with a flat end (needle nose do not work). The vise grips work on the staples that the crescent tool cannot get, but it takes longer. **Q: Is this product made in USA?** A: Looking at the tool the word CRESCENT Brand with a circled R and NPII below on the tool. I do not have the package the product came in and that is where you would find more info. Look up CRESCENT on the internet and you will possibly get more info. This is a fantastic tool, i love it! **Q: Will this grab and pull nails in compodite deck boards?** A: It will, but the nail has to be up enough for the jaws to grab it. If the nails are below the surface of the decking, you’ll likely need another type tool. Have bought two pairs (one for each location I work at) and my son-out-law has bought some as well :-) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dont struggle *by C***N on 2 April 2023* I am busting up pallets and these are the best thing for pulling nails. They are not designed to get hold of heads that are flush to the wood, you need a different tool for that, but if you can get hold of the nail do not struggle like one of our Canadian friends did on his posted video, just cut a piece of 22mm copper pipe about 2 feet long and slide it over the forward handle and the extra leverage and the ease of removal will amaze you.
