Boil, then package & freeze to use later. Great protein w/out the sodium in canned beans.
We have salads every night with dinner and always toss in some beans for added protein. We love garbanzos but canned beans have all that extra sodium that we don't need. I also think these taste better than canned ones too - - - more nutty with a firmer texture than canned. I spend a few hours every few months and boil 2-3 bags of these dried beans at a time. I let them dry on a drying mat on the counter then package them in snack size bags to freeze for use later. They freeze exceptionally well as long as you let them completely dry first before packaging and freezing. I buy them here because the grocery stores in our area don't always carry bags of dried garbanzos. Delish way to add protein.

Life altering
โI'm not going to lie, I had high hopes for these garbanzo beans. My life was missing a certain... legume-shaped hole, and I knew these were the ones to fill it. When the Amazon box arrived, I felt a surge of adrenaline usually reserved for opening a new gadget. The packaging was immaculate. The beans themselves, a beautiful beige, were a sight to behold. โAnd oh, did they deliver. โThese beans did the bean stuff. They soaked up water exactly as advertised. They simmered to perfection, not too firm, not too mushy. They blended into a hummus so sublime, it could make you weep with joy. They held their shape in a salad with the stoic dignity of a Roman emperor. I've had beans that were flaky, beans that were defiant, but these beans? These beans were professionals. โIf you are in the market for some garbanzo beans that are reliable, unwavering, and truly, genuinely good at being garbanzo beans, look no further. Five stars. Would bean again.

Around $1 reasonable
Make my own hummus. As bran should be. They are a smaller size. Ok with me.

Excellent quality in May/June 2025
I feel like this is the kind of review that needs a timestamp because unfortunately quality of what used to be called "dry goods" (flour, nuts, rice, dry beans, etc.) can ebb and flow based on farm sourced and a particular harvest, with an increasingly few # of notable brands really holding the quality from year to year. (Reviews of this product's quality has varied over time.) And it's 2025: the food storage methods that used to be the domain of "preppers" now extend to folks trying to stay ahead of potential supply chain or pricing issues. These beans are, indeed, small. I have yet to find dark spots or other signs of spoilage. Raw or sprouted, they cook up very nicely with a good texture in my Instant Pot, without soaking (one of the things for which Instant Pot is famous). They sprout really well, with few duds and no telltale odor to indicate general non-viability/rotting under sprouting conditions. They are not glyphosate free, and although I think we are approaching a point where that will be too much of an issue for the food industry to avoid, glyphosate-free right now comes at a cost. I am using a foodsaver & sealing bags to seal up these beans in 1 lb portions. Safe from moisture and air, I expect they'll keep past their expiration date - 11 months out I think -- although I expect germination viability for sprouting to go steadily down.

I left the beans overnight in water and boiled them in water the following day and they were indeed edible.

Painted for Sensory Bin
I purchased these to paint for the sensory table in my PreK classroom. They are easy to paint. Tempra Paint works best to cover. Nice chunky mix.
