I didn’t do the math before buying and realized I couldn’t use all of the cubes in the configuration I needed. So I ended up with 2 extra cubes. Some reviews are very unfair as they never even attempted to put the shelves together. The shelves are very lightweight but very sturdy. All the materials are strong especially when they work together. Despite some of the reviews, I found this VERY easy to put together. I highly recommend that you thread the two tubes into every shelf and wall first. Then build out the horizontal parts first. Then start building up vertically. Since they are very lightweight, it’s very easy to manage building it out this way. I have bought 2 of these so far and about to buy more because they are very flexible in configuration (with some limitations- you might have leftovers in certain configurations or not enough in others if you want something outside of their suggested configurations for the number of cubes you purchase.) But the more you buy the more options you have. In reading all of the negative reviews it’s clear that either they just don’t understand how to put it together and/or they don’t understand the physics of how the material works together to be strong and stable.
