Review: Well Made, Utilitarian Dumbbells - These are well made dumbbells in a plastic carry case that's a bit larger than a shoe box. They are Utilitarian -- simple design executed well enough. I like that the case makes easy to keep the gear together. If I were to carry it around outside the house I would suggest a band to keep it secure. The plates and hardware have a substantial feel. I use cycling half gloves but I can see how the crosshatch on the bar could be tough on bare hands. Really like them for my intended use and if/when I need more weight just buy additional standard plates. Great value

**Q: Can i put the whole 40lbs on one handle?**
A: No, the max is 34lb.

**Q: Where can i get extra weights from to add on the the dumbells?**
A: I believe any standard one inch weight would fit the bar. Amazon sells separate weight plates in various weights.

**Q: Smallest weight with these? I’m looking to just start adding some weight lifting to my work outs**
A: According to the description, the bars are 3lb each,  the collars are 0.5lb each, so the lowest you can go is just the bar at 3lb, then 4lb with the collars, followed by 9lb with the 2.5lb weights.
