**Q: is this the measure for the shaft or the flute?**
A: On mine the shank measures (via vernier caliper) 15/32 inch, 12mm. The flute measures 5/16 inch, 8mm.

**Q: Is the grind a standard bowl gouge or a side grind?  One picture shows a side grind; another shows a standard English bowl gouge grind.**
