The venturi system is loud because its sucking air in to aerate the water. I use the normal aeration and it isnt as loud. No aeration and u cant hear anything. The control knob is difficult to adjust to the setting you want. The filter keeps my 18 gallon tank clean and clear. Easy to clean. Gets the job done for $30. Good buy

This internal filter is possibly one of the quietest filters I have ever owned to date. There's practically no noticeable noise unless part of it is too close to the surface. It keeps my tank crystal clear and was super easy to fill with my own media. It might look small but that's a bit deceiving. It can actually fit quite a lot of your own personal media and is definitely enough for a smaller tank. However, you're able to buy the add-on to add another layer really easily as it just uses magnets to connect each layer/compartment. I haven't had any issues with the suction and removing the filter part for a quick rinse is super easy and quick. Definitely would recommend!

So, this is a good filter. It moves a lot of water, and it's easy to clean. But, if you fully submerge the filter (even with the air hose extended past the water level) this pump gets noisy. I usually end up with it JUST at the surface, and it stays quiet that way. But, if the water evaporates and gets too low... you guessed it, noisy again, just in a completely different manner. Overall, a good filter, just some minor issues.

I love this filter. The only thing I don’t like is the Venturi tube option it’s very noisy and loud. When using, without it you don’t even know it’s running and have to check to see the water flow.

Ha, this filter is bigger than I thought. I got it fur my 15 gallon but I think size wise would be better in a 20 or larger.. all can say bad is that when putting the suction cups on, your going to have very sore thumbs , but other than that, a very well made filter.

The suction cups are a bear to put on but thats the only problem I had. Im using it in a 29 gallon tank with 3 electric blue acara . Water control for flow and provides oxygenation too. Live this product

For years I have used hang on back filters. I recently got a new tank and wanted to try a cannister filter. After plenty of research, I came across this SHARK ADV400 pump by SICCE. It had lots of good reviews and seemed like a good filter for my 15 gallon application. My first problem I encountered was that the venturi system did not work. I followed the instructions exactly and ensured that I was properly setting up the pump. After several failed attempts, I concluded that the pump's venturi system did not work. The pump was very quiet and put out a very strong flow of water, which was good. The magnet system that allows you to quickly disconnect the filter chamber is pretty cool and worked as described. After looking through the filter, I realized that this filter did not have enough space for an adequate amount of sponge or floss or whatever you like to use. It essentially only uses mechanical filtration. It does not have a compartment for bio media or anything like that. I tried to contact customer support to get help and the website prompted me to create an account (yuck). So, I created the account. The system then asked me to check my email and verify my email address by clicking on the link provided. The link never came through. Yes, I checked my spam, junk and all folders looking for the email from SICCE. When it never came, I send the company a message via email letting them know what happened regarding the account registration. I asked them to have a customer service representative contact me via email. Its been 3 days and no contact has been made. I'm sure SICCE is probably a really good company with quality products. I'm simply stating what my experience has been. My recommendation is to stay with a hang on back filter for tanks under 50 gallons.

Me agrado bastante cambié una de las esponjas, por una de mayor densidad de la marca, el filtro es de respaldo para un tortugatio de 40 LTS aproximadamente, es algo grande en cuanto al tamaño, tiene mucha potencia, creo perfectamente sirve como filtro de respaldo en acuarios más grandes. La idea es no realizar cambios tan seguidos del filtro canister y realizar una limpieza más frecuente de este filtro.
