Great choice for a USB C Android phone
I had been waiting to buy a thermal camera for a while and finally settled on this one after reviewing all-in-one units, and ones that plug into your phone. I chose this one because it was on sale, and it had pretty good and thorough reviews. Others looked a lot larger than something I wanted to put on my phone, and this one is really small. It comes with a pretty solid case (it's like a hard sunglasses case) and very basic instructions to download the app. The user manual seems like it's inside the Android App, which is a bit of a pain, but it's pretty intuitive to use. I wanted mine to see in my ceiling where I need to insulate better and see any potential water damage areas. I'm not a professional user so this suits my needs just fine. It's really neat to see it working and have 'Predator'-vision. It only uses the camera in the unit for this and does use your phone camera for thermal. You can put your phone camera in a small window to have it overlay the thermal one, which is pretty neat. It also makes a pretty good stud finder, as in the attached images you can see very clearly the studs behind the walls (yes, I definitely need more ceiling insulation). Also neat to play around with standing somewhere and seeing your footprint, or putting your hand on something and seeing it. Plusses: Small, easy to use. Better technical specs than other thermal USB C cameras. Minuses: Should have a separate user manual/pdf, and a USB C extension for people with phone cases would be nice. Would I buy again? If for the same use I'm using it for now, yes. Great product!

Needs a Case!
Well, I've got to say, after trying a few other FLIR cameras, this one is AMAZING, The resolution is unbeatable at this price point, in my opinion, and the refresh rate is actually better than expected. The temperature range opens possibilities that NO other inexpensive camera I've seen can match. What I DON'T like, is that I can't get it to take a photo unless I allow location. I can take VIDEO without enabling location, but NOT photo. Yesterday, I was trying to get a few photos of exhaust headers, AFTER shutdown, and kept getting an overtemp warning. This may well be me having some setting incorrect, as I didn't go into advanced settings โ which this unit seems to have plenty of. This really is a VERY impressive unit. NOW for the BAD... It is SO tine, I'm afraid I'll lose it. It comes with the most ridiculous little tie-string tote bag. It's hard to get it into the bag (even though the bag is HUGE for the camera), and even harder to get it out. I tried hanging it on my waist with a small carabiner, but it catches on everything. And it offers almost zero protection. Won't protect from leaning against something, won't protect the lens, won't protect the connector, certainly not water resistant... Virtually useless. I've now spent an inordinate amount of time looking for an adequate case. Closest I've found that MIGHT work is a 'tactical' Zippo case. Little things can be easy to lose. Little EXPENSIVE things, much worse. While I understand that to hit this price-point, they can't have had much room in the budget for extras. But I would GLADLY pay another $50 to get a hard, waterproof case that could go on my belt, small enough to carry this. If anyone finds a suitable case, please let everyone know :-)

Surprisngly useful product
Excellent value for a 256X192 resolution thermal camera. Worked well when plugged into my Galaxy S23 Ultra Android phone, producing clear image maps with easily identifiable temperatures (see example). The thermal camera enabled us to discover how much excess heat the pilot light on our gas fireplace was producing (more than100F). The only problem I encountered was the P2 Pro app would sometimes not connect with the P2 Pro camera when I plugged into the phone repeatedly. This was fixed by closing down the app before plugging it in again.

Incredibly small and great for circuit board inspection
Previous to this device, I had been using a dedicated handheld thermal camera that I purchased several years ago. My first impression when I opened the box is that the device is incredibly small, I was aware of the dimensions before ordering, but it still feels smaller than expected in hand. This is especially true after being used to a much larger handheld device. This device is better in every way than the previous handheld device. Because it utilizes a separate phone, there is no need to keep an additional battery charged, and a phone screen will usually be much bigger and better than a dedicated device too. Resolution of the image is comparable to other devices that I have used, but where the P2 Pro really stands out is with the removable magnetic macro lens. Using this lens is great for close up circuit board inspection, which was mainly what I wanted this camera for. My one complaint is that this camera doesn't quite fit on my phone with a case on, though it comes with a USB C extension cable that helps with this. The extension cable is also nice for circuit board inspection so I don't have to hold my phone, but for most other cases I would prefer the device just be plugged right in to the phone. I purchased a small USB C to USB C adapter that allows it to fit with my phone case on, but it would be nice if this wasn't necessary. This small issue is not enough to make me try another product though, as the cost, size, build quality and optional macro lens make this camera perfect for me and I have not seen any other devices this small that also have a macro lens. Attached are two pictures from a 3D printer heated bed and one using the macro lens on a component on a circuit board.

Works way better than the cheaper options
This works very well for the money. Way better than the cheap imitations. I bought one for under $100 that is useless because is is so less sensitive and low resolution. This one is very good. It picks up much smaller temperature variations and is a useful resolution. Still not very useful at long range, but very good up close and at medium range.

Works well, temperatures appear accurate, resolution of thermal images is great. Eats power.
Thermal image quality: the thermal resolution is great, even without the dual camera "tricks" other thermal cameras use. Things like logos, and details like cables, are clearly visible. Temperatures look accurate. The saved pictures have a fair amount of JPEG compression, but it doesn't impact the fidelity of the thermal image. Great value here. Installation/ease of use: you have to download a pretty shady looking app off the Play store, but it doesn't ask for weird permissions and seems to work fine. I would recommend getting a bit longer USB-C extension cable so you have more play with the thermal camera. The included one works perfectly fine, but it can sometimes be a tad awkward to maneuver. App: pretty middling, and doesn't save settings sometimes. Fairly buggy, but for critical functionality it works fine. Power use: I'm specifically wanted a thermal camera that used the phone's battery (via USB OTG), so that I wouldn't have a useless device if its own internal battery died, but wowzers it uses a lot of power. It's about equivalent to forcing my Samsung S9+ (3500mah battery) at maximum screen brightness and using the camera app, so probably only 1.5-2 hours of use from a full charge. I knew what I was getting into (using the phone's battery) and realize the thermal camera has a lens mechanism and complex CPU/USB circuitry itself, so this isn't a ding on the product - just more of an FYI.

requires excessive app permissions. Recieved a returned product
The app requires excessive permissions (location specifically) and won't work without it. quality is good, and doesn't require the use of your phone camera. Works on windows as a normal camera without the temp readouts. I received a pre-opened/returned box as my seals where cut. camera works still, so check your seals/product. I'm pretty sure someone used it once for a specific need then returned it, as the usb cable was coiled inside of the zipper pouch as if it was used.

INFIRAY P2 Pro is far Superior to Flir One Pro!!
Unlike Flir One Pro that I own & has a small internal battery that needs charging and limits use time, the P2 Pro runs off cell battery, with low power consumption. Refresh rate is far higher and with significantly more pixels, the P2 Pro video & images far superior! All these advantages at a much lower purchase price. I would never buy another Flir One Pro unless Flir does a complete redesign and slashes price! The P2 Pro cellphone Android works well, allows for selectable color pallets, and digital spot, min, & max temperature overlays on the images. I'd expect the IPhone app will work equally well. The P2 Pro came with a case and micro-usb 3.0 extension cable.

Impressed
Bought this to look for house air leak and and water leak. I'm still impressed by the image quality and sensitivity of this camera. Used it for couple other work and never failed me. For that price, it's a good investment if you need affordable Thermal camera

Compact, great image quality!
Great little device. Needs the extension cord as it won't fit through the case on my Samsung S23 Pro. Sensitive enough to see hand and footprints!
