I heard some static, but I was holding the handheld mic close to the receiver. It is two channels fixed frequency VHF. The headset microphone and lapel mics seem to be omnidirectional and very sensitive. You may get feedback if you're too close to a speaker. They may also clip if the input is too loud. I didn't notice any issues with sound quality. I recommend the PTV-1B if you need something simple and cost effective. I would not recommend for anyone who has used or is used to professional grade equipment. Good for karaoke, beginners, small family gatherings, presentations, or anything that you would rather not use expensive gear for. Minimal knowledge of microphones and speakers required. The lapel mics definitely had a crisp and clear sound, I wish the handheld had a bit more volume to it compared to the lapel mics. IN DJ GIG: Plugged the microphone system into a Zoom LiveTrak L-8 mixer for a live outdoor DJ gig and used the wireless mic. The volume settings took some trial and error. Gain and volume was pretty high on the mixer, also had to crank up volume on the receiver to get a good sound. Overall, the mic did what it needed to do for a live DJ gig and for quick announcements and mic work. It's a great value / budget microphone.
