I can ball my hands up in fists for a minute, and then stretch them back out against the ice pads. You do have to order another set of the ice pads if your chemo is over 30 minutes. They are just under $40 here on Amazon. The packs will get warm enough where they won’t constrict the blood vessels like they should. My chemo lasts an hour, and they want me to start the cold therapy 15 minutes before, so this is the only way to make this work for me! Otherwise, into an ice bucket, my hands go! And the nurses will provide that, but I just ordered the extra pads to make it a little bit more comfortable. The only reason I gave four stars is because you have to order that second pack. The photo shows me at my chemo appointment, with my hands in the ice water because I only had one set of ice packs the first time.
