## Overview

The Trangia 25 Series Multidisc is a lightweight, multi-purpose plastic accessory designed in Sweden to perfectly complement the Trangia 25 cook set. Serving as a colander, lid, cutting board, or snow base, it weighs only 86 grams and measures 210 x 5 mm. Endorsed by the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, this durable disc enhances your outdoor cooking experience with versatile functionality and compact convenience.

From the manufacturer The Trangia Principle The heart of the storm-proof Trangia stove system is the two-part windshield. The ventilation holes in the lower windshield are turned to face the wind to increase the oxygen supply to the burner. If the wind becomes too strong, the stove is turned to maintain the required flame. The Trangia spirit burner runs on alcohol based fuels such as methylated spirits which are low cost, safe and readily available. The combined frying pan/lid can be put on top of the pan to speed up heating and save fuel. The stove stands stable, with the pan on the supports recessed into the upper windshield. The supports are turned upwards when the frying pan is used. The Trangia stove can also be used with a gas, multi-fuel or gel burner, which all can be found in the Trangia range of accessories. Chosing the right Trangia stove Which size? Trangia 25 Series (3-4 person). All have 2 pans (1.5L and 1.75L), a 22cm frying pan, upper and lower windshields, a burner, a pan handle and strap. Trangia 27 Series (1-2 person). All contain 2 x 1L pans (1 graded, 1 ungraded), an 18cm frying pan, upper and lower windshields, a burner, a pan handle and strap. With or without a kettle? All stoves in the larger 25 Series are available with a 0.9L kettle. The smaller 27 Series stoves are available with a 0.6L kettle. Which base material? Ultralight/UL Aluminium is lighter and 50% stronger than standard aluminium and has superb thermal conductivity. Non-Stick is available in the frying pans and pots. Hard-Anodised/HA pots and pans receive a treatment making them hard and scratch resistant without adding weight. Duassol is a laminate of aluminium for conductivity on the outside and stainless steel on the inside for increased durability. Which burner? The Spirit Burner uses alcohol based fuels such as methylated spirits. Easy to use thanks to the simple construction, a filling (max. 2/3 of the burner) burns for approx. 25 min, boiling 1L of water in 10 mins. The Gas Burner is easy to use, has a fast boiling time and keeps the pots soot free. Boils 1L of water in about 3.5 mins. Review: A great addition to your trangia - How useful can around piece of plastic with some holes and notch cut out of it be? Well it turns out very useful. As a keen Trangia user I like to prepare and cook meals away from home. I try to avoid taking pre-cooked things to reheat or just opening a can, this often means cooking from scratch and as such have a need to chop things. I had been using a small, rectangular, chopping board that I had to carry separately, but now I have this multi disc I can fit the chopping board in my Trangia cook kit. I was a bit concerned that it would be too small and the food would fall off the edge of it, and while it is not as large as your chopping board in your home kitchen, I have found it more than adequate during use. I have not had the opportunity to test it as a strainer to pour off the cooking water from pasta, however, I can confirm the pot grips fits perfectly in the cutout notch, and I can see no issue using it, however, as a left-handed person, the multi disc is set up for right-handed people more so than lefties. But as all left-handed people will attest we live in a world that is right hand biased. All in all a fantastic purchase and has made my Trangia even easier to use away from home that it was already.

How useful can around piece of plastic with some holes and notch cut out of it be? Well it turns out very useful. As a keen Trangia user I like to prepare and cook meals away from home. I try to avoid taking pre-cooked things to reheat or just opening a can, this often means cooking from scratch and as such have a need to chop things. I had been using a small, rectangular, chopping board that I had to carry separately, but now I have this multi disc I can fit the chopping board in my Trangia cook kit. I was a bit concerned that it would be too small and the food would fall off the edge of it, and while it is not as large as your chopping board in your home kitchen, I have found it more than adequate during use. I have not had the opportunity to test it as a strainer to pour off the cooking water from pasta, however, I can confirm the pot grips fits perfectly in the cutout notch, and I can see no issue using it, however, as a left-handed person, the multi disc is set up for right-handed people more so than lefties. But as all left-handed people will attest we live in a world that is right hand biased. All in all a fantastic purchase and has made my Trangia even easier to use away from home that it was already.
