I went through the procedure to activate the device. Then I tried a test by turning on the water a little and got soaked. It had to be returned. UPDATE: the company that sells this sprinkler controller, reissued me another unit and we are very pleased with the results. I am thankful for their fantastic commitment to customer service and the belief they have in this wonderful product.

The instructions, build quality and longevity is why we decided to purchase additional units from this manufacturer. The first step is to follow the instructions. Testing the check valve as detailed not only in the instructions but additionally on the outside of the box should give one an idea of the importance of this step. The build quality is top notch. From the brass connector to the super tight battery housing and tight switches...previous units have held up for over two years in the hot Louisiana sun. The battery life is off the charts. Setup is uncomplicated and easy. The quality of the washers and filter also have stood the test of time. I am sure there will always be a 1% failure rate on production like all things, but the ones we have that have been used from new to three years in the hot tropical climate have been 100%.

Timer is easy to operate. Directions are also easy to read. Looks like it is well made. Installation not complicated

I prefer Rainpoint sprinkler timers because they have full flow which is what I need to water my garden. Easy to program and expect good battery life. No issues with leaks.

Just 3 days after the return window closed (so we had it for just about 1 month), I found the timer cracked. It’s very apparent that it was heat related, and as most residential hose spouts do - the side of the house gets a lot of sun. This area isn’t accessible, so there’s nothing and no one who could’ve physically damaged it. What a waste of money!

Easy to install and setup, works exactly as expected. I've been using this timer to water my herb garden for over a year now. The only critique I have is that I had the unit fail, leaking water through, however Rainpoint stood by their product and replaced it with no hassle, so I can say they have excellent customer service. Remember to check the batteries!
