Klipsch GIG XL

One word, Amazing!! It really is a loud quality sounding speaker. I has deep bass and gets very loud, no doubt this is a house party speaker. Just crank the volume on the speaker to 95% and control de volumen with your phone and turn on the bass button and feel how loud it can get. The sound needs to be equalized on your phone to get the best sound out of it, I added the best equalizer settings in the pictures. I'm surprised people give this speaker a bad review when it gives such loud sound, the drivers provide powerful sound that can be very loud and the tweeters provide good clear highs at loud volumes. For 250 dollars or less I think it's a very good deal because of the overall features and the sound quality that you get. Soo many people compare it to JBL party speakers but they are more expensive and also have more watts , so for 250 dollars the Klipsch is a great deal for the money you pay. Compared to portable Bluetooth speakers of the same price this has way bigger bass and overall sound, way bigger. Maybe the sound has a little less finesse than a smaller speaker, but for a party this serves it's purpose, it has powerfull bass and loudness that can be club like sound at high volumes, at least in doors the windows shake because of the strong bass. The bad I would say it's that it needs a equalizer app to get the best highs and also you can't control the color of the lights you can only change the patern or turn them off. This is not a speaker system for professional djs, this is a house party speaker, it definitely sounds loud but it's for casual party use, a professional speaker needs at least 250 watts and up, this Klipsch sounds more like 100 great watts. I have two sony xb43 connected in stereo mode and this single Klipsch GIG XXL beats them in loudness and bass, easily!! So this speaker has power without a doubt. I have to say that overall I'm really satisfied, hope Klipsch keeps making speakers like this that sound amazing and have a great price compared to the competition. If you want a speaker for partying then you won't regret this purchase, at 250 dollars or less it's a great deal. Just remember to use the bass boosted setting and use an equalizer to get the best sound out of this speaker. This speaker is meant to be used loud!!

This is my second one. I bought this to pair with my first one and use it as Bluetooth stereo speakers for my TV instead of buying a soundbar. The Bluetooth pairing was easy and they work great. I also like they are portable so if I need to move them around or use them for party, I have the ability to do it.

This unit delivers quite a bit for not much cost. It does provide a full frequency response with very reasonable bass except the last 1/2 octave of bass guitar, which rolls off a little bit. It plays plenty loud for any use I would have for it, and it can do so on batteries ... away from the AC outlets. What pulls is down from 5 to 4 starts is all the stuff that is not quite what it might be... but I must restate that this is quite reasonable for the price. First, the unit did not work properly until I did the "factory reset sequence". Second the instructors are extremely minimal and at times insufficient -- as things like how long you press buttons and the like matters. Third getting the light show to be off entirely does not seem to be an option, though you can get it to happen "much less" using multiple presses of "that button" each time you fire up the unit. I could get the unit to play from any of the sources -- line, bluetooth, guitar or mic -- though it appears once you have selected bluetooth the line input is deactivated. I did not try playing direct from a USB stick. The guitar input sounds really reasonable on bass guitar or acoustic guitar, and the volume for this operates completely independent of the large button, which controls only "media" (line or bluetooth in). The "mic" input is for unbalanced mics such as the supplied unit, which I did not try. BUT this input also works pretty decently as another guitar input if you like. The "echo" effect applies only to this "mic" input. (So busker people as well as karaoke people may have fun with this, especially if used with a guitar pre or bass guitar pedal having some EQ.) In terms of sound quality, there is nothing terrible going on, but this is not a super high fidelity device, nor would that have been expected. To my ears the mid range is a bit suppressed and this makes it 'pleasant' but not engaging for listening seriously. But this is not really the purpose of the unit. It would have been useful to have an app to control and tweak the unit and observe that status thereof, and perhaps provide some EQ facilities -- of which there are none other than a "Bass" button that makes the bass overblown in all settings but nominally flat. Lastly, the unit is a bit large and heavy for most people's taste, though it is similar to the largest of the JBL units that costs much more. Still this is a LOT of functionality for a very modest cost. So for many purposes, a great choice.

I initially bought this as a speaker to use at my daughter’s wedding reception. It is so easily portable! The sound quality is top notch! It quickly became more than just a speaker. It not only brought the crowd to the dance floor, but also delivered beautiful speeches with great magnitude. I decided to set it out at a family dinner to see what might happen. As soon as it was turned on, the sound & lights filled the air! My shy three-year old granddaughter quickly took center stage with her karaoke skills! What a fun-filled day! Now, it is a piece of furniture that sets out for everyone to use, at any time. Do NOT keep this amazing entertainment piece in the box, on a shelf! Whether you use it for a large party, a small crowd it will make the best memories! I’ve used it inside, outside, & in the rain. This is one of the best purchases I’ve made! The quality is truly amazing & the performance is fantastic. Unbelievable value for the money! It’s solid acoustics & sleek design is high end and would be well-suited for any DJ. It quickly became more than just a speaker. The lights are a fantastic addition for dancing through the night.
