"Patience you must have." You need install the Alexa app as well as the Smart Life app. This is only required for setup of new or additional Smart Life devices. Once you complete all the steps you don't have to touch things any more.Step 2: Setup was initially quite aggravating. because Smart Life-Register wanted a "password". It just wants you to make up something(include a numeral). Write it down, it only asks once.Step 3: Plug the sockets into plugs. I contacted Amazon for help. After some troubleshooting, it was concluded that the units were defective. being out of the USA, it would have cost much more than the full refund to send it back so I kept them & got a partial refund.2 weeks ago I was telling a friend about the problem & he asked if I ever checked to see how many wireless routers in my proximity that are on the same channel as my router? because it could be an interference problem.my channel was set to auto & at the time only 2 other routers were on the same channel.channel 13 was free so I tried it and the plugs connected immediately. but when I checked my Amazon plugs they were flashing red and wasn't responding to commands.
