The gel I have used is not watwerproof ... *by R***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 December 2014* Our front door is not totally flat - it has a raised wood grain effect in it. This means the hook will not stick to for more than 10 seconds BUT there is a very simple solution to this problem. Just use a little gel around the edges and you will find the hook stays up fine. The gel I have used is not watwerproof so it may come down in the rain but if it does I have already decided I will use vaseline next time. Hope this is helpful.Review UPDATE - The hook is cream in colour and our front door is red so it looks odd. We decided therefore to fit the hook upside down on the inside of the door and hang the wreath on a red ribbon which goes over the top of the door and ties to the hook.This works brilliantly. But importantly, when I came to remove the hook from the front door, it was well and truly stuck on - it wouldn't have come off in any sort of weather. So the GEL IS AN EXCELLENT SOLUTION.
