The 8m version is quite heavy and difficult to manoeuvre when fully extended. The trick is to place the end of the pole on the ground and hold vertically immediately below the branch to be cut, only then to extend the individual sections to the required height. The cutting tool is very well made with jaws wide enough to cut thick branches. The 'gearing' of the cleverly designed pulley reduces the force needed to operate the cutter. Would have been helpful if instructions had included guidance on how to use, as above. Overall an excellent product which enabled me to raise the canopy of an enormous lime tree which was blocking out light in our garden.

I bought this in March and wanted it to reach those high over hanging branches that annoyed me but I couldn’t reach. They’re gone now and I’m really pleased with this product. The actual cutter is very effective and once you get the branch in the jaws of the beast it cuts very effectively. The pruner does wobble on full extension, but still does the job even then. On full extension it’s a challenge to handle. The pole vaulter approach works, so grab the lopping end find a solid place where you can anchor the base, then walk forward pushing the pole higher and higher until its vertical and you’re under the target. I’ve used it several times and am very pleased with it.

Branch cutter was very good with the pulley system it gave good mechanical advantage. Blade was good. Pole was very flexible when fully extended, this could do with more reinforcement. It did the job.

At first glance it seems ok although at full reach it bends a lot so best to only use in a vertical way. Assembly and user instructions just about non existent. A few pictures on the box with Chinese writing. This is an 8m extending pruner. Why only supply a pull cord of 3m?? Crazy.

Compared to others that use a few poles this is compact decent weight sturdy and works fine
