Amazing! Removed stripped T40 Torx from CanAm Spyder!!!
Amazing!!! I bought a used 2021 CanAm Spyder RT Sea to Sky with 2,900 miles on it. The first oil change is at 3,000 miles. I knew from my research of the CanAm Spyder that it is best to change the oil plug with bolt style oil drain plugs because there is a risk of stripping out the Torx 40 drain plug on the right side since there is a brake linkage in the way and it is hard to get the Torx wrench perfectly seated in there. Lots of people have stripped out this oil drain plug. CanAm is aware of this issue and recommends taking it to the dealer to have it drilled out, removed, and flushed. Well, I decided I wasn't going to risk it, so I bought the bolt style replacement oil drain plugs for my first oil change. And wouldn't you know Murphy's Law hit me. Yeap, on the first oil change I stripped out the T40 Torx oil drain plug. My wrench would just spin inside that bolt. I provided a photo of what that stripped out bolt looks like (which should have a star pattern). Now, it was more like a circle. I started doing research on alternative methods of removing a stripped Torx bolt. I came across a video on the GripEdge Tools Torx Set which was selling on Amazon for $169. Basically, it is the same as the Mac Tools B.R.P.T. but rebranded as GripEdge and sold much cheaper. They claim 400% more torque on stripped Torx bolts. Well, considering the cost of labor to have a dealer drill out the drain plug, flush the engine, and then the worry that the engine flush wasn't good enough, I started looking for other methods and found GripEdge Tools. I ordered this set from Amazon. For $169, it wasn't cheap, but it was far less expensive than taking it to the dealer and then the worry that there were metal particles in the engine. I gave it a try. Holy Smokes! It worked, and it worked great! I put the GripEdge Torx 40 in the stripped bolt, tapped it with the socket wrench a few times to make certain it was seated, and it literally bit in and easily removed the oil drain plug. Prior to that, with my other T40 Torx, it just spinned inside because it was totally stripped out. So, it worked, and it worked very well. Since the CanAm Spyder primarily uses Torx bolts of various sizes, I purchased the whole set versus just buying the T40 bit by itself. Now, I have the confidence that using the GripEdge Torx Bits, I won't strip out a Torx bolt to begin with, so I won't have to worry about dealing with a stripped out Torx bolt.

A few taps on the bit it worked to remove my striped t40 bolts.
Trying to remove 2 striped T40 Torx screws for my truck’s tie down. I accidentally stripped them by using T30 bits on T40 bolts. How careless I am!! And the bolts seemly have blue loctite applied so they were difficult to remove. Until I bought into grepedge after some research on Reddit. At the beginning, using T40 gripedge bit did not work directly. Gripedge does not grab either. However, after I used a hammer to drive the gripedge bit into the stripped bolt, to the point where the t40 bit can stand by itself, then gripedge worked wonders for me. I was able to remove both bolts. Happy with the results. Will only use gripedge for Torx screws in my future projects.

Worth every single penny
I have bought the Allen sockets (both 3/8 and 1/4 drive) from this manufacturer in a bind with wallered out fasteners that I wasted too much time on. These sockets solved my problems in seconds once I had them. Was wanting this torx set, but none of my tool trucks had them in stock. Stripped out a rusty old water pump T30 screw and ordered it here. Wasted hours trying to get it loose on that friday afternoon, when I had these and went back Monday morning I had it out in under 10 seconds. Cannot recommend these sockets enough as someone who earns his living off his tools.

An absolute must have in your tools !
This is my first ever review on amazon. I’m so blown away with Grip Edge that I had to write this review. These are incredible torx bits. My German torx were not biting hard enough and some bolts just were stuck with Wera Torx spinning inside. With grip edge - it just grabs !! Highly recommend! Worth the price.

If you are hesitant don’t be it’s worth it
I really really couldn’t care less about writing reviews but this tool was so good I have to make one. I was working on a 2011 mini cooper s. The job was to take out a VANOS solenoid but for the intake that is located behind the engine near the firewall. I used harbor freight torx bits but the stupid screw was so tight it stripped the whole thing. There was no space at all to be drilling a hole and put an extractor. I was looking for ways to take it off until I came to find this set of star drivers. I was really hesitant it will work because as you can see the bolt was very stripped. With lots of hesitation I bought it hoping for the best and when it arrived I went back at it again with the bolt I tried the original size a t27 and it fit perfectly in the other solenoid so I went at it for the stripped bolt it did bite but it jumped. In the moment I was really pissed off thinking I just spent a lot of money on junk but I used a size up and at first it didn’t want to go in. Although with some light taps as much as I could in such a small space I felt it was good. When I put on the ratchet to turn it felt not to convincing but with a bit more turning it felt like it was gripping and there we go the bolt snapped out of place for how stuck it was and it came out. I was so happy for the fact it came out and this tool actually served its main purpose. As you can see in the photos and videos this bolt was really stripped.
