If this does not work uninstall programme and install again. The OCR works better than when I last tried such software, several years ago, and gets the text all but perfect. I think the large glass area under the mouse, which is used for scanning, could perhaps get scratched on a normal cluttered desk, so I do not use the scanner-mouse as just a mouse very much, also its cord is quite stiff with all the extra leads it neeeds inside, so it requires more space than a typical mouse for the cord to clear obstructions. If you keep a clean empty desk neither of these would affect you much. There was a software update available soon after installation (March 2014) which rather spoilt its operation, so I have reverted to the software as supplied, which is very flexible and works well..
