They have pockets and a very stretchy waist band but with ample space in the thigh area. I would definitely purchase these again. I've had similar style shorts from more well known brands e.g. nike, adidas, under armour... and I still prefer this pair!

These shorts are very good quality, wash well and are lightweight and comfortable to wear. They have pockets and a very stretchy waist band but with ample space in the thigh area. I originally ordered a size 12 (my normal size) and just a bit too tight for workout shorts. Size 14 fit much better, nice fabric.
