It sure is nice working with a well engineered product - Easy install, quiet, powerful!
Super easy to install, especially if you are replacing an InSinkErator product, since the sink flange and pipe sizes are identical, meaning that you won't need to spend time cutting and resizing your plumbing beneath the sink. The installation instructions are adequate, and there are lots of online videos that make it easy to walkthrough the process. I was replacing a 20yr old model, and it took about 10 minutes and only needed a screwdriver and a channel lock wrench to loosen my old pipes. The kit comes with the wrench you need to loosen the blades after install and to help you tighten the disposal onto the sink flange/collar. In fact, it was so easy that I decided that I might as well install the sink collar that came with the new one so that I would have a shiny new logo when looking into the sink. That process involved needing a putty knife to scrape away the old putty, and some fresh plumbers putty (I don't feel safe using the gasket since plumbers putty is so much better at filling gaps and making a water-tight seal). But if you don't have putty around, you can always use the gasket. The changes from my old one was that the electrical connection to the wire used to be wire nuts, but now involves pushing the wires into a connector, and then installing the connector into a slot. Also, the outlet pipe now has a rubber collar on it to isolate vibration. Both changes result in a safer, quieter product. I am impressed. I think you might be too. The only downside is that this product is proportionally more expensive than other brands. However, I invoke the "you get what you pay for" rule. Considering my last Insinkerator disposal lasted 20 years, the cost difference amortized over 20 years is irrelevant.

Buy once, Cry once.
Heavier than the 0.75hp Moen EX75C unit that wore out. I felt every second of doing the install with my torn rotator cuff, but I managed. The unit does NOT come with a cable, but rather a socket to wire up a cable, so you can wire it directly to a switch, or install a cable of your own. If you're just going to install a plug cable, go with this. EZ Connect Power Cord for insinkeator Garbage Disposal 4-Foot Power Cord for EZ Connect Power and Advanced Series Continuous Feed Food Waste Disposer Models, Compatible with CRD-EZ It will make your life easier, and only costs a few bucks. Yes, it's more expensive than the other units out there. Buy once, cry once. It's a quieter than my previous unit. It is also larger and heavier. I would recommend this for anyone, whether for use in their own home, or a rental unit.

Powerful, Quiet, and Surprisingly Easy to Install.
We needed a solid replacement for our 20-plus-year-old garbage disposal, and we chose this one for the extra power, quieter operation, and smoother grinding. At 1 HP, I expected it to be much louder, but this thing almost purrs compared to the loud grinding noise from our older model. With as much home cooking as we do, we put it to work right away, and it has handled everything well so far. Installation was surprisingly easy, especially considering this was the first garbage disposal I had ever installed. It came with everything I needed to get the job done, minus the basic tools, and it fit perfectly under our sink. The only adjustment I had to make was cutting a drain pipe so the disposal would drain properly toward the other sink drain. That part is worth paying close attention to in the instructions. Overall, I’m very pleased with the power, quiet operation, smooth grinding, and ease of installation.

It works exactly as they say.
The evolution seems to be a large improvement of the longer, earlier models, in several areas. It definitely provides a finer ground, and seems to be better insulated. That does add weight, but it muffles sound far more than earlier disposals, and seems to run smoother. The added weight also may be the reason it 'moves' less. The quieter use means I can use it when people are sleeping and not be concerned about waking them up. If you have older pipes, or any sort of questionable septic situation, this model is a must over others due to the several stage grinding. It basically eliminates any issues this could bring up. While it won't remove any issues due to misuse (you still can't put grease or meat down these, no matter what people say), it won't cause any issues. One observation is that the motor, likely due to it's power, takes a second or two longer than its predecessors to spin down. Its a little heavy; holding or carrying it might not seem like it, but when you have to lift it in a small cabinet and hold it up, it suddenly can become a little cumbersome. This weight is unavoidable considering the entire thing is a giant grinding motor. You can install it yourself, but it's best to bring a friend. I still feel after installing several of these the twist on flange is unintuitive and the instructions are a little unclear for new users. While a lot of people may prefer the new cable 'plug' setup as it is easier to use, the added cost I would have rather wired it the old way myself, since it added an additional I believe $10 to the cable cost. This isn't a deal breaker, just a frustration. They may have found in testing and support that the cable situation too confusing for people, but I don't know how, as it was color coded. Regardless, Five out of five stars, I would purchase again and strongly recommend.

High Quality, Will Last Many Years
This is a top-of-the-line disposal. It was easy to install, and we are very pleased with how quiet it is when running. A wise investment that should last many years.

Outstanding product
Purchased to replace an existing Insinkerator disposal. The old one lasted around 30 years (forget exactly when I put it in, mid 90's.) It was still running but sounded like one of the bearings was failing, and it had done its job perfectly. Quiet, took everything I could shove down its throat, including steak bones. This new one is even quieter. (A lot quieter.) And smoother. I pack the remains into it and it goes gulp..! I'm amazed how much improvement they've made in the last 30 years. If you're looking to move in a few years, I'd recommend a less expensive unit. But if you're like us and like where you live, nothing beats top quality. Not only will this unit last for decades, it will do the job better and quieter than any other residential unit on the market. (I also bought the matching cord to make installation faster and easier.) Follow up, 1 year. Disposal has proven to be extremely quiet and takes everything. We had a professional plumber install the unit as I'm getting too old to crawl under inside the kitchen cabinet and lift the unit into sink connector and lock. Last week I turned on the disposal and it fell out of the connector, which is attached to the drain. The plummer came out at 8 am next morning and re mounted the disposal (along with some plastic drain the broke when it fell.) Recommend that when you install, you use water pumps to make absolutely certain that the clamping ring is tightened to its max. Have a feeling that the plummer failed to do this when he installed a year ago.) This is a very expensive disposal, but it's also top quality. If you want the best, the quietest, the most powerful, this is the one.

It is actually quieter, and it took the plumber only 30 minutes to install
We replaced an InSinkerator Badger with a InSinkerator Evolution after reading reviews. It's quieter, and doesn't shake the dishes in the sink or on the counter as did the Badger. The Badger made clanking noises with its stamped steel grinders, and always sounded as if a spoon might have gone in. There is none of this with the Evolution. (I haven't tossed in a spoon to see what that would do.) In the accompanying pair of images, the tall part of the bar graph is the garbage disposer grinding the peeling from one orange, recorded 1 foot above and 1 foot to the side of the disposer, the noisiest spot I could manage. The sound meter is uncalibrated, because it's a phone app, so it's only valid for comparison. The left image is the Badger, the right image is the Evolution. a 3 dB difference is 2x sound pressure. The Internet says that 10 dB is a *perceived* doubling of loudness. Who knows? The decreased noise appears to come from 4 things: - a more internal grinding mechanism - sound insulation of the housing - better balance of the mechanism - a smaller rubber aperture at the top, which fills with running water that mutes the sound. I have no experience with other makes or models. I watched the plumber do the install. With proper tools and knowledge, I could have done this myself after taking hours to learn how. It's simple. We call the plumber so that he can pay his mortgage and we can have a cup of coffee while he works. This is "society."

Quietest on the market
I install garburators for customers all the time, the home owner had an old version of the insinkerator that lasted for about 10 years, pretty good considering how much crap goes down them, so I went with the upgraded version and it is perfect. It bolted right on to the old hardware, even though it came with new stuff. I bought the lug in adaptor kit extra to go to plug style since he had a gfi under the sink already. Easy wiring. Then only difference in the mounting of the unit was the drain office was about 1 inch shorter then the original one and the drain pipe was to short to be able to use the old drain, so I just had to cut it and add an extension on the abs. No big deal. Definitely the quietest model I have heard on the market today for that amount of hp. Just remember to keep the rubber dampening gaurd on to eliminate the noise coming back up from the unit. This model is now my go to for all clients willing to get the best.

Not for EU market!
Please do not buy this in Europe. This is not a model for European market. First of all you need to understand, that you will need to buy a specific parts sold separately to even get it to work. Second: The InSinkErator Evolution 1 HP garbage disposal is designed to operate exclusively on 120 volts at 60 Hz. It is not compatible with 220-volt systems. Attempting to connect this 120V model to a 220V power supply can result in damage to the unit and poses significant safety risks. For regions with 220V electrical systems, InSinkErator offers models specifically designed for that voltage, such as the Model 46 and Evolution 100. It’s advisable to purchase your InSinkErator product from an authorized retailer in your country to ensure compatibility with local electrical standards and to validate the warranty.

Reasonable quite and easy install.
I wouldn't say this is whisper quite but it is certainly much quieter than the previous unit. Easy install and included wire harness made the job painless.
