Can this spread dry Peat Moss?

I've never tried spreading any kind of peat moss, so I can't honestly answer the question.  However, my opinion is that the dry peat moss would probably bunch up in the spreader and not drop.

Drop spreader calibration is a relatively simple process compared to calibrating a broadcast spreader although the process is similar. It saves time and money in the long run :)Materials needed:Seed, fertilizer, lime, something to apply...Drop spreaderTarp (I like 5'x8')Weights to hold down tarpCalculatorScaleTo Calibrate a drop spreader:    1: Set out the tarp and weight it down. A blacktop driveway is ideal!2: Read the label of the product being applied.    (example A 20lb bag of Scotts Classic Sun & Shade covers up to 16,000 square feet.)3: Do some simple math.    16,000 ft^2 / 20lb = 800 ft^2 per pound of seed    Tarp is 5'x8' which = 40 ft^2    40 / 800 = 0.05 pounds    0.05 lbs x 16 = 0.08 ounces or 23 grams    So 0.08 or 23 grams of grass seed per 40 ft is our target application rate.4: Fill the spreader half way with the product to apply   5: Starting at setting "1" on the spreader apply the seed over the tarp according to the directions of both the spreader and the seed.    You may be directed to make overlapping passes. If so make sure you apply the same way over the whole tarp... mind the edges.6: When finished collect the seed from the tarp and measure. keep increasing till you reach your target application rate.7: Mark it with tape or make a note of it somewhere for next year.It reads like it will take all day and it may take an hour the first time, however after that it will take much less time than an that, perhaps 15 - 20 min when you are comfortable and confident. * Calibrating a broadcast spreader is similar however speed affects how far the seed is thrown, also called the "swath width" and plays a role in calibration. You also need a bigger tarp.

wheel to outer wheel 50", the bed of the unit at the top is 40" long and 12 " wide. It of course narrows as it goes down. Mr Burr.

Will this spreader work efficiently with powdered lime?

I use it for powdered lime. Works great. Lime has to be completely dry.
