The films were made between 1997 and 2004.Cube -7 people find themselves in a square room with exits on all surfaces, each leading to another cube room. The concept is simple, find a way out of the cube before they get killed in rooms that have innovative booby traps. The main strength is the interaction between the characters as they try to find out why they are there and learn about one another, heightened by the inevitable death as someone succumbs to the latest trap. ****Cube 2:hypercube -More professional title sequence, swearing from the start, the cube itself looks more clinical and sterile where people come and go. Individuals are more paranoid from the off and there are much more background noises to be heard. The story is basically the same but the changes make it refreshingly different as one of the cube rooms seems to be chasing them. Some nudity and sex. Good twist at the end. *****.Cube zero –a prequel to the first film and returns to a booby trap scenario but focuses on those running the cube. Much more of a story but less tension and claustrophobia. Personally I found it the weakest of the three. ***These innovative sci-fi movies take a standard premise, people trapped and trying to survive/escape but it does so in a disturbing nightmare world where people just disappear. Is it a rich persons game or a scientific study, you’ll have to watch to find out. Being a tech person i really like them, but do not see them if you want to know the plot. The plot is almost about there is no plot. Its all about how the different characters cope with the situations, and how they develop.
