I bought the A30M a couple years ago to help diagnose check engine lights on my older vehicles. This week it ended up saving me from guessing and just throwing parts at a check engine light. I had a check engine light on for an evap leak so with the two way communication I was able to activate the EVAP vent control valve on and off, confirm the solenoid was working, and then use a smoke machine to determine that the valve had mechanically failed. After replacing it, I cleared the codes and verified everything with the scanner.The app takes a little time to learn, but once I got familiar with it, it was easy to read codes, clear them, check live data, and monitor emissions readiness. The software is always up to date with free updates which is worth a lot to me. I actually had to reach out to support for an issue connecting and they helped me get it sorted. For a certified YouTube mechanic like myself, it offers a lot without the cost of a big time professional scan tool. It’s already paid for itself with one repair since my state requires emissions testing.
