I've bought and returned several different sewing machines from desertcart in the last few weeks, from mechanical to computerized. There are no dealers near me to do a test drive. So I made a decision to buy this off brand computerized machine. Surprise, surprise. This is a hidden gem of a machine. For less than $115!! Sweet. Stitches are good. Has a front loading bobbin which I really prefer (until the Juki it is the only bobbin type I had ever used in 50+ years). Needle threader. Not too loud. No clunky noise when turning on. Vertical spool posts. Needle positioning. SPEED CONTROL, never knew just how helpful that feature was. Just did a quick trial run upon receipt but will follow up in a few weeks. Let's just say, I can buy one of these every year if need be and still be better off than buying another $1000 machine. Update: Max stitch length would be too short for basting. Not an issue I hand baste. Min stitch length is extremely tiny, would probably bee good for paper piecing. Looks like the max stitch length will be my default setting. Stitch widths are good. Did an excellent blind stitch when hemming a pair of knit slacks. Balanced and even bobbin winding. Review: Good machine - Bought this as a replacement. Good machine. Walking foot/even feed foot, specifically.** A: I have 2 machines and 1 is a singer and the walker foot from that fits my Uten. When you lower the foot all the way down to sew, the screw you tighten and loosen by hand to change different feet will be aprox. 1/2” above the needle plate, foot plate. A long shank will be aprox. 1” above when lowered all the way down, that’s how you can tell. Most home machines are low shank. **Q: What kind of warranty does this machine have? I am not seeing any warranty information anywhere.** A: It come with a standard 2 year manufacturers warranty and has a 30 day return. Of course Amazon provides additional warranty for a fee.
