Standard Dwarf type tomatoes have grown well in the Gardyn Towers, especially Red Robin Tomatoes. Roots on larger plants may need to be trimmed periodically and it will be easier to remove plants from the tower to trim roots. These Net Pots serve my purpose, and should make the trimming process easier by helping contain the roots for removal and when replacing the plants in the tower after trimming. The Net Pots fit well into the tower pods as seen, and allows for the use of rockwool and root sponges. After some experimentation, I plan to use rockwool as the growing medium, as the root sponges have a tendency to slightly separate when handling. The rockwool stays consistent and less concern for clogging the pump. The Net Pots are a perfect solution for what I want to experiment with growing vegetable plants in the tower.
