The PTU-71-1H1B is really a triple threat winner in my book. I have very often have uses for a wireless handheld, lavalier, and headset mic, sometimes at the same time. This unit really performs well in all 3 categories. For my solo acoustic gigs, the wireless handheld works great for me to be able to get in front of my solo PA and do a quick soundcheck. The Mic is comparable to a Shure BLX24/PG58 setup. The sound quality is very good. It's a little different, but that's to be expected. It's a different unit. The vocals you get are certainly very usable and really didn't require a lot of EQ. When playing with my band, we all use IEM's, and especially in practice, we need to be able to talk without always having to pull our IME's out of our ears. But our drummer doesn't like having a mic on a stand in his face all the time. So the headset mic works great for this. I also shoot youtube videos and tv commercials. Having the wireless lav mic is incredibly helpful. I don't have the talent more than 20-30 feet away from my tech setup, so the noise floor is more than acceptable. If you're doing small club gigs where you have a digital PA box onstage with you, this is a no brainer purchase. The sound quality is very good, and the range is more than acceptable. Especially for the price. In all 3 scenarios the battery life was good. I can easily do 3, three hour sets with no issue. Sometimes have done 2, 3 sets of 3 hours without any battery issues. And there's plenty of frequencies to find the one without interference. Now if you're a hardcore roadwarrior gigging musician who needs gear that can take a beating, I would say the build quality isn't the toughest. BUT if you're rack mounting it (which I do, and it comes with everything you need), then that becomes much less of an issue. Just take care of your gear! Again, this is a great budget purchase that punches well above it's price tag.

I'm really happy with this purchase. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but the quality seems good. The headset mic works well, even with the around the head thing being far too big for me. I'm thinking to 3d print one that fits. I have only tested the handheld mic once and it was super quiet - not sure if it's used error or not. Will have to try it out again and try different settings. The instructions are very generic so there wasn't much in the way of a troubleshooting guide in the box.

Very impressed with all 3 mics. Very easy to setup and a real advantage to be able to scan for the best signal especially if there’s other wireless items about. Very high quality and well worth every penny.
