I've gone through two Cuisinart air poppers, the previous model to this one. Loved both of them. So when the second one finally gave out (the plug was getting very hot and became a fire hazard), I bought this one. More expensive than all the others of the same kind, but worth it! (so I thought)I tried it twice and noticed two things. One, it gives off a weird chemical, off-gassing smell. I thought maybe you have to run it for a while to get rid of the smell, but even after two full runs of making popcorn it still smells weird when it's on. I cleaned it per the instructions but the smell is coming from inside the machine. Over time, that smell would probably go away, but it's concerning to wonder how many batches of popcorn before that happens.The other problem is unfortunately a show-stopper for me. I use the smaller kernel Bob's Red Mill popcorn. The old Cuisinart popper had no problem with them. This new one... half the kernels eject into the bowl before popping. Like, fully half.
