Review: Another great Casio. Love it. - I already have the gold tone version of this model, and I have to say that this black one is every bit as good. You will see in the attached mp4 clip that the black one has a feature that the other colour variants lack - this one has a bright green, electroluminescent display background, whose digits are a light brown most of the time but, under my living room lights, the visible green light is always active. In the darkness, the background is in negative in that it's the same colour as the crystal on the green daylight mode, this seems to be a feature unique to the black model as purchased and under scrutiny here, the gold and bare steel ones have a more usual dial light which is visible in the car without the light, and has the lcd in the sandwiched plates that activate the display but night time looking on those models brings up a full display width, amber backlight, just as good as the subject of this critique but less quirky. The watch is extremely easy to live with, its black stainless steel case and strap definitely justify the range's "Premium" family name. Functionality wants for nothing here, though some might prefer an option to change between 12 and 24 hour clock scales, the latter referred to as "military time" for those customers in the USA. This model shows a small "p" marker top left in the display. That's plenty for me, iention this purely in case you prefer a 24 hour range. Comfort is excellent, I found it very easy to size the watch for my 5⅜" wrist. I only needed to remove four links in total for my wrist size, the links are roughly the width of the half links provided with some luxury watches, so a very good fit should be achievable for wearers up to a 7" wrist size, but bigger wrists might need a strap to be fitted in place of the bracelet. This is far easier than in many Casio watches as the case of this one is blessed with 20mm lug width, probably the easiest strap size to find. 👍 Like any bracelet with such finely made links, the link pins can feel a little unwilling to be pulled out initially, but take it gently, follow the instruction book and use the tip of a very fine screwdriver to push in line with the arrows on the links. Do not, under any circumstances, push too hard, this makes a minor injury much more likely, just take it steady and you'll be grand. And finally; is it worth the money? For me, absolutely, this and its differently coloured sister watches are cased and assembled to a highly satisfactory standard, no resin or plastic in sight! I have also noticed that this black one, the gold one and another piece that I own from the Vintage Premium range, are much more accurate than the more budget oriented Casios. I can only assume that these modules are regulated by human beings with excellent eyesight and a fine touch, rather than machinery. I could be wrong and all Casios will be very accurate in any case, but the VP models that I own keep time with no detectable loss or gain - this measured using a CRO tuned to the vibration frequency of the quartz crystals in the modules. Durability, if my previous Casio purchases are any guide, is obviously not up to being abused. For this, we have our G-Shocks. But in daily use, looked after and not driven over with a very heavy old 4x4. 🤔 I own a Casio 83qs 41b, a 16th birthday gift in 1980 and that, apart from a few small scuffs on the case and the mineral crystal, looks much newer and has no functional compromises. That's Casio build quality! Am I recommending this to you? Yes, without hesitation. It's superb. Thanks for reading all of that, Cheerio just now, Jaye ××

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well worth it
*by M***L on 10 October 2024*

Very nice sleek watch well made too

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Full metal Casio
*by D***S on 28 January 2026*

Great full metal option from Casio. The bracelet is of the folded metal variety but the case is full metal and not the standard chrome coated resin. This negative display version is great out in natural light but has to be angled just right inside to be able to read the display. No other negatives. Very cool watch imho.
