The power cord began to fray and finally broke at the point where the cord is enclosed by a plastic housing at the back of the light frame. Perhaps my problem is unique, but maybe the issue is poor design. The on/off switch is located on the power cord, 27 inches below the plastic housing, and the extension cord socket is located about 6 inches below the switch. So the switch and the extension connection are hanging in mid-air from the music stand, and may have supplied enough weight to lead to the fraying of the cord at the housing. A longer power cord that allowed the switch and the connection to lay on the floor would have reduced the stress on the power cord at the top of the music stand. Much brighter and easier on the eyes. Important because it’s much less eye strain, especially if you practice for two to three hours a day. It will definitely help improve your performance either in the studio or night club. My Aria light is 120Vac powered so I don’t have to mess with batteries charging, or worry about losing a charge. Aria also offers a light dimmer that works with it. It’s robust construction, good quality and with the LEDs, you don’t have to worry about replacing light bulbs. It doesn’t get hot either. It’s not adjustable but if your sheet music is standard height it shouldn’t be an issue. It clamps on to the top of the stand securely and doesn’t wobble, vibrate or fall off.
