Very pleased with these comfortable and practical earbuds. Mic sound is clear and bright and the buds fit well. Recommended.

These are just great, they far exceed my expectations. I always wear over the head/ears headphones, but in this hot weather it's impossible. Got these over-ear hooks to use instead and they are wonderful. Sound every bit as good as high-end ear-phones, easy and light to take in pocket. I am delighted.

First set I sent for had modern USB type connection, (Model no:- ADHF-L171, which didn’t fit my old portable CD player. My own fault for not looking at the sales details, online. Sent for the correct one, Model no:- ADHF-E171-BLK, whilst waiting for returns label etc. Both articles had arrived pretty quickly. Now I’m using correct model for me, very satisfied, excellent value for money, very good quality, earbuds very comfortable, very long cable length, with useful little cable clip to hold any extra length not needed. Very well designed, using some fresh ideas, I think, with the shaping of the over ear piece, and , if the microphone is the same quality as the rest of the production, I’m sure that is probably very good too, but it was not part of my needs. Took one star off for difficult terms and conditions when trying to return unwanted set. Decided to keep instead of return, and sell the article on, less hassle.

Good clear sound, fit well over the ears. Had three years of daily use out of my previous pair before I lost the sound in one ear, which was probably my fault through slightly careless handling, so was happy to replace with the same.

Avantree impressed me when they immediately followed up my purchase with an enquiry into my satisfaction with the product, I explained that although I like the comfort and sound quality, the inline volume control did not work with my iPod. Immediately they got on the case investigating the issue (and not even Sennheiser seemed to be interested in resolving this one). Soon Avantree got back to me to say that although they had been unable to find a way to make their earphones work with my device, they were sending me this upgraded pair of headphones, and they're great, easy on the ears in every way even, if I have to control the iPod volume on the iPod itself. Avantree are now my first port of call for more hardware like this. Not just because they produce good quality product for a reasonable price but because their customer service took my breath away. REVIEW UPDATE: I've now had these earphones for a couple of months, and it's become clear that the in-line microphone quality is really quite bad. So I've lowered my originally 4 star review to a 3, especially since I'm having to buy new earphones for those Zoom calls. Audio Quality: Decent. They won't blow you away -- but they won't disappoint either. They have emphasised bass (like so many nowadays), but the mids and treble are still very present. Another reviewer on here said the audio quality was on par with the earphones you get on flights -- this is simply not true. They are perfectly good for what they are. Functionality: Okay-ish. The earphones are well-built and "solid" feeling, but over long stretches of time they can get uncomfortable -- at least for me. For a run or workout sesh they're fine, but not so much for long stretches watching Netflix etc. Another slight gripe is that the over-ear loops are extremely flexible (see pic), to the extent that they're not really securing anything at all. All they do is stop the earphones falling off completely, if they happen to work their way out of your ears. This means most of their ear grip comes from the small rubber nubbins (?) on the speakers themselves that go in your ear. Thankfully the earphones come with 3 different sizes of the aforementioned nubbins, so you can choose one that suits you best. I needed the big ones.

Fitted well, felt solid, and good sound quality especially for the price.

Good value, OK sound quality. Good for exercising as the support around the ear prevents them falling off. My only gripe is the small clip which would attach to a T-shirt (or similar) broke as I tried to fit it to the cable - very brittle and poor quality. Otherwise, these are ok for the price.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am updating this review that I had initially submitted. Approximately 8 months after I bought these (Sep. 2023), the right earbud stopped working all the sudden. I could jiggle and hold the volume control and the sound would come back, but that was not an option. Therefore, I contacted Avantree Support and let them know what happened. They responded by email within 24 hours (other responses for the Support Incident were even quicker than that), and indicated they would send me a new set at no charge as they were still under warranty and provided clear instructions on how to order the new ones. The new ones arrived yesterday, 05/28/24 and they work like a charm. I am still very satisfied with the earbuds, and the professional customer service provided by Avantree. I still feel these are a very good value for the price, given the way they handled replacing the original defective set. ORIGINAL: I have had these Avantree E171 - Sports Earbuds Wired with Microphone for about 3 weeks now and I mainly use these on the treadmill when I run. I have found these to be more than adequate for that purpose. I previously bought Koss $6 headphones for the same purpose but I found those didn't last long enough before one of the earpieces would just go dead. With the Avantree, I can see that for the price, they are a little better made and the wiring is a little stronger. They don't seem flimsy at all, and the earbuds themselves and the portion that fits on your ears seem to be sturdy. They fit on my ears nicely enough with the loops and they do not bother me with or without glasses. They come with the middle size eartips attached, but I did find that when I run on the treadmill, they seemed to jump around a little, so I put on the larger ones. (The earbuds come with 3 sizes of eartips). The eartips are a little hard to get off and get the new ones on but you just need to grab the main part of the earbud and grab the base of the eartip and twist and pull a little to take it off, then work the new one on to the stem by working the opening of the eartip on the stem and pushing down and twisting a little. I have dexterity issues with my hands and I still got them on and off in about a minute. As far as the sound, these are not bass heavy at all, but that is fine (especially for the price) as the music I listen to doesn't have much bass (such as with rap and some rock), but I found there is enough bass where needed, and they provide a nice rich, melodic sound without being "tinny" at all. In addition, although they do not have built-in noise cancelling functionality, I find that with the larger eartips when I am on the treadmill in our community fitness room, I do not hear the lady that babbles on loudly and continuously :). Thank You Avantree! I have not tried these with a cell phone, so I can't speak to using with that. But, I have tried these on an iPod shuffle, an iPod touch and an iPad. The product listing here under "Before You Buy, Please Note That..." notes: "The built-in volume control does not work on PC, laptop, or iOS MP3 players, and the volume up button does not work on the Pixel 3A and Galaxy A9, S10, and Note 9 (it'll activate Google Assistant instead)." I will verify the in-cord volume control and the pause button does not work on the iPod shuffle, but I found they DO work on the iPod Touch and my iPad. Seems to be a bit of a bonus. Overall, I think they are worth the price and provide a set of nice sounding wired earbuds.
