Enriched with whole salmon proteins rich in Omega 3 and 6, it supports healthy skin, scales, and fins. The slow sinking 1.4-1.6mm granules cater to natural feeding behaviors, while small-batch production guarantees maximum freshness without artificial fillers or preservatives. Ideal for small to medium goldfish, this balanced diet is fortified with essential vitamins, amino acids, and minerals for optimal daily nutrition and muscle care. ## Description Fluval Bug Bites is a complete fish food that features a unique insect-based formulation, enriched with multiple quality proteins and carbohydrates that are ideal for goldfish. High in fiber, this formula ensures food intake is properly processed through the intestinal tract, supporting a healthier gut and overall wellness for this cold-water species. Insects are hunted by fish in the wild as they offer a widely available food source. The instinctive feeding habit is the foundation behind Bug Bites, which are formulated with nutrient-rich insect larvae and enriched with multiple quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Most freshwater fish are omnivores and regularly feed on insects in the wild. However, not all insects are created equally when it comes to a fish’s diet. Bug Bites are formulated with sustainably harvested Black Soldier Fly Larvae (1 ingredient across all formulas), which are raised on fruits and vegetables for exceptional “super food” nutrition. Using a unique cultivation process, BSFL are grown under controlled conditions for total sustainability that preserves natural environments. Under controlled conditions, Black Soldier Flies produce larvae, which naturally feed on decaying organic matter. Unconsumed fruits and vegetables are used as larvae feed. The larvae consume the feed, converting the nutrients into protein and healthy fat. After a 2-week feeding cycle, the larvae are harvested and dried. The dried larvae are mixed with other high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements to offer a complete and balanced daily diet. In addition to BSFL, Bug Bites offer other excellent protein sources such as Herring & Shrimp Meal, which are also rich in Omega-3 for healthy skin, scales, fins and colors. Unlike big brand fish foods, Bug Bites are always prepared in small batches for superior control and quality assurance. The proximity of our ingredients (most of which are delivered right before production) also offer maximum freshness, which translates into better palatability. ## Features - Goldfish food that contains up to 40%, nutrient-rich Black Soldier Fly Larvae, the first ingredient - High in multiple proteins like whole salmon – rich in Omega 3 and 6 for healthy skin, scales and fins - Fortified with essential vitamins, amino acids and minerals for a balanced daily diet - Slow sinking granule format (1.4-1.6mm) – all fish can feed at their preferred depth; feed as much as fish can eat in two minutes, two or three times daily - Sustainably processed in small batches for quality control and maximum freshness - Made in Canada with no artificial fillers, colors or preservatives ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Additional Features | Unique insect-based formulation, sustainably harvested Black Soldier Fly Larvae | | Age Range Description | All Life Stages | | Allergen Information | Salmon | | Animal Food Diet Type | Raw | | Asin | B071RSXSCC | | Best Sellers Rank | #91,208 in Pet Supplies (See Top 100 in Pet Supplies) #1,045 in Aquarium Fish Food | | Brand Name | Fluval | | Breed Recommendation | Medium Breedsman, Small Breeds | | Container Type | Bottle | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (1,146) 4.6 out of 5 stars | | Dog Breed Size | Small | | Flavor | Fish | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00015561165839 | | Item Form | Granule | | Item Weight | 0.05 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Rolf C. My goldfish loves it! Flys are just a winner! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My fish love it - just bought two more *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 14 June 2025* I seen to have the fussiest pond goldfish in the world. Tried feeding them all kinds of things before and they all got ignored, even after 2 weeks of not feeding them! However, they really love these bug pellets and instantly swim over to eat them.I don't know if it's the colour enhancers in the food or just because they're happy and healthy but my fish are looking bigger, happier and more colorful than when they were eating pond sticks and pellets. It stinks to high heaven when you open the bottle but maybe that's what lures them over. Either way - I'd recommend as my fussy fish seem happy enough! ### ⭐ chinh *by on Reviewed in Canada 5 February 2020* the price 26$ Can as cheating, ## Frequently Bought Together - Fluval Bug Bites Goldfish Fish Food, Granules for Small to Medium Sized Fish, 1.6 oz., A6583 - Fluval Bug Bites Bottom Feeder Fish Food, Granules for Small to Medium Sized Fish, 1.60 Oz., A6586 - Fluval Bug Bites Goldfish Fish Food, Pellets for Medium to Large Sized Fish, 3.53 oz, A6584 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/558534460-bug-bites-goldfish-fish-food-granules-for-small-to-medium](https://www.desertcart.in/products/558534460-bug-bites-goldfish-fish-food-granules-for-small-to-medium) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
