This #1 New York Times bestselling picture book parody is the perfect Halloween read! Goodnight tomb. Goodnight goon. Goodnight Martians taking over the moon. It's bedtime in the cold gray tomb with a black lagoon, and two slimy claws, and a couple of jaws, and a skull and a shoe and a pot full of goo. But as a little werewolf settles down, in comes the Goon determined at all costs to run amok and not let any monster have his rest. A beloved classic gets a kind-hearted send up in this utterly monsterized parody; energetic art and clever text will have kids begging to read this again and again. The board book edition is the perfect size for little hands! And keep your eye out for other Mike Rex favorites: We're Going on a Goon Hunt and The Runaway Mummy ! Review: We love it! - This is such a cute parody! My Halloween and monster loving kiddos think it's a great book. We ended up buying a second when our first one got forgotten in the rain Review: Bedtime favorite book! - This book had quickly become a cherished part of our bedtime routine. I remember back then my son, who was only three years old when we started reading this book together, loves it so much that he brought it to me every night. Despite not being able to speak full sentences at the time, he quickly learned to recognize and read key words like "goon," "moon," "tomb," "bat," and "hat" thanks to the repetitive and rhythmic nature of the text. This book not only makes bedtime fun with its playful take on the classic "Goodnight Moon," but it also significantly helped my son improve his vocabulary and reading skills at an early age. The delightful illustrations and whimsical, spooky theme make "Goodnight Goon" a fantastic read for little ones, especially around Halloween. What a lovely book!

Worth the buy
Out of the five Halloween books I ordered this one was the most fun for my kids three and five. Itโs pretty quick, but it has great pictures and the rhyming is top notch.

Cute, silly parody on a classic
My brother was originally gifted this book with his first and I got a copy of it for our house too - now I love giving it as a gift. I never LOVED the original, but for whatever reason, kids really do seem to like it and this one is no different. It's simple, a little sillier, and a quick, entertaining read for bedtime. My kids like to point out/find whatever item or creature we're reading about on a given page which is great for their cognition and understanding. I have to admit, I can't stand how rude the line "Get under there!" reads so I add in a "PLEASE get under there!" - manners matter, y'all. Board book all the way!

Great classic baby book alternative
Awesome little alternative to the classic. We were invited to a baby shower where the parents asked for only books.. we knew everyone and their cousin would give them the usual so we decided to give them the unusuals and got 4 spooky themed versions of the baby book classics. They were a hit. So think outside Halloween and dare to be different

Such a fun remix!
I always loved goodnight moon and have even made my own bedtime song to that book when my son was born. Finding out there was a spooky version of the book made me so happy! My 2 year old is obsessed with Halloween like me! Of course I had to add this book to his Halloween gift basket I made him. We been reading it together almost every night!

My boysโ favorite!
Such a cute spin on the original!! My boys reach for this one more than any other book. That silly goon is so mischievous!! And the book is a good way to make scary monsters less scary. We often gift this one to other families as well!

Awesome and Enjoyable Book
My baby loves this book. I have been reading it to her since she was a newborn. Now that she is 1 year old she holds it and mimics me when I read it to her. She laughs and makes grrr noises whenever I read her this book. I would definitely recommend it. The illustrations are cute and the story is quite unique. It really brings out children's imagination.

Essential holiday reading
If you observe halloween, this is essential for your little goons who are already familiar with the Margaret Wise Brown book Goodnight Moon. Don't think twice, it's good quality hardboard and the rhyming is pretty accurate to the original so your pacing will mostly follow the original. Great illustrations and it's fun for parents too.

Funny Parody!
My son asked to order this book so he can read something every Halloween!! The characters looked scary but funny at the same time. He learned about different types of scary elements (goo, witch, martians, aliens, werewolf).
