These are great to turn can lights into spot lights to display paintings.

Now I don't need to reach for the light in the laundry room, thanks to this, I attached a motion sensor bulb and voila, the light turns on when I walk in.

What i was looking for

Any bulb with any amount of weight will not be supported by the flexible arm. Probably should be use with a small light bulb if you plan to use the extension in a flexed position.

Long enough to put canister lighting in places you want lighting instead of leaving an empty socket,

Exactly what i wanted.

Ok so they're not 12 inches long. The actual extension part, the reason you purchase something like this, is about 8 inches long. They include the male and female ends in the measurement, and even then it falls short of 12 inches. Disappointing.
