Actually, the " G " logo is not in the middle of the magnetic ring of this case. The magnetic ring position of this case is based on the charging coil of the google pixel 8 pro phone. In order to ensure that your phone can still be charged with peace of mind while using the case, this pixel 8 pro case uses an built-in magnetic ring to align precisely with your phone's charging coil.

Are the magnets in this case strong enough to hold the phone onto a ferrous metal surface? Like, on the fridge?

To ensure it doesn't interfere with the wireless charging coil embedded in the pixel 8 pro and maintain a comfortable tactile feel, magnets are embedded on the inside of the case. Therefore, there is a PC backplate between the magnet and the metal surface, thus weakening the connection force between the metal surface and the magnet inside the case. So it can't stick to metal surfaces like refrigerators, steel, etc. But it sticks firmly and securely to MagSafe accessories with strong magnets because the back of the PC won't interfere with the strong connection between the strong magnets. The Google Pixel 8 Pro MagSafe & Stand case can only be stuck on MagSafe accessories such as car mounts, wallets, chargers, etc.
