Very basic. Hardly any content.
Bought this book for a sixth grader who has powered through scratch programming books. This book feels like a cash grab. Very basic information. Will be returning for something more substantial.

Not for young kids
The illustration on the book cover and the text describing the book imply that this book is for perhaps late elementary to middle school kids. Unless your child is exceptionally brilliant, you're going to have to put this book on the shelf until grades 11 or 12. Does your kid know what a Fibonacci sequence is? They will also have to know some Python programming, as there is no way anyone could get started with this book. Python Coding For Kids is in serious need of an editor. It's full of typos (what's a white loop? Oh, a while loop), math mistakes (an 8% tip on $60 is not $10.40), and misplaced pages. Most seriously, the answer codes have no indentation, which is essential to programming. Despite its faults, the book fulfilled the purpose for which I bought it. I've completed two Python coding courses and felt like I needed to pull my knowledge together in order to write some short programs. I did all of the exercises in the book and got a lot of useful knowledge by looking up how other people wrote particular programs. I got a lot of experience Googling solutions and concepts I was unfamiliar with. Most fun of all, the book introduces the reader to the Turtle module, which is a drawing program. I had a lot of fun with that, but I had to look up YouTube videos to actually learn how to use it. This is not how I thought I would use this book, but I ending up achieving my aims, hence the three star review. If the author sincerely wishes to introduce young children to Python program, the author needs to simplify the content, create more white space in the text, get an editor to find all the mistakes, and most of all, indent the code in the answer section appropriately.
