AGPTEK A02 MP3 Player with Bluetooth 5.3, 1.8 inch Screen Portable Music Player with Speaker, FM Radio, Voice Recorder, Supports Expanded Up to 128GB(Black, 32GB)

This is a great inexpensive MP3 player! I was looking for a wireless MP3 player to use with Bluetooth earbuds at the gym to replace my ancient iPod nano and wired headphones. I also own a non-Bluetooth version A02S. This player is labeled A02XT on the back, and appears to be a newer version of the model as it had several additional side buttons which do not show in the pictures on the Amazon webpage nor on AGPTEK's website. There are now Volume Up and Volume down buttons on one side, and a Back button on the other side in addition to the 5 buttons shown on the front. These make changing volume and going back one screen so much easier and intuitive than with the prior A02 player on which you needed to manipulate several buttons on the front to go Back one screen or change volume. Bluetooth setup was very easy and haven't had any random disconnects. Sound quality is excellent. Be aware that the volume maxes out when using Bluetooth at a medium loud level, not super loud. You can copy songs from an iTunes playlist to this player, and have it play in the same order by doing a copy and paste (not drag & drop) of songs in the iTunes playlist into one of the Playlists in the folder on the MP3 player which can be seen in the Finder. If you select that Playlist to play songs on the MP3 player, the songs will play in exactly the same order as in your iTunes playlist with no change in sequence. It does take some time to transfer songs from your computer to the MP3 player especially you try to fill all 32GBs with songs. I did cause the player to freeze up when I erroneously pressed the Back and Vol down buttons together. To unfreeze, hold Play/Pause button about 10 seconds, screen goes off, then powers on, and all is good, no loss of files. I haven't tried any of the other capabilities (voice recordings, photos, etc) but I only purchased the player to play songs, and it does this perfectly.

Great product. Battery life is amazing. It can hold many song (I have 34 right now). The sound is good but I don’t recommend listening to music without headphones. It’s pretty small but it fits in any pocket. It’s easy to navigate and the performance is good. The screen scratches easily. Btw, use internet archive to download songs, don’t buy them.

This is a pretty good player for the money. Bluetooth works well with a variety of devices, and format support for music is really quite good. FLAC files and OGG files both play well, along with AAC and MP3. No support for ALAC, but that is an apple specific niche. Audio quality coming out of it is acceptable. I find that it does sound better over bluetooth (closer to smartphone quality), but over wired connection it's still serviceable. The EQ settings are better left alone for most tracks. There is some difficulty with Album artwork, but I was able to write a script that would resize it to 900x900 and re-embed (use mpegg) and that made it display. However, I also have the Led Zeppelin bug, where all albums show in one. The other features aren't notable, except for the FM radio, which works well with wired headphones or an antenna (like a reel antenna) attached. Screen quality has limited viewing angles but it is fit for purpose. Overall, not a bad player if you know how to tag and manage your music. USB-C is not fully compliant, so don't try this with a 20w charger. Use a laptop or a 5w. For the price of a USB pen you can have an mp3 player that is ultralight and enjoyable enough to use, and you won't cry if something happens to it.

Upon opening the box i knew this going to be a crap product. It's disappointing because I've bought agptek products before and they were built better than this. 1. Super light & i do mean super light like it practically has no weight. Could be an issue you never know 2. A toggle switch for on and off; not a big deal but it's a toggle switch that has the potential of not working 3. Navigation is okay but the software keeps it from being responsive. Even going through the menus it lags 4. Cycling between tracks there's a lag from one song to the next. Some gaps I wondered if this thing had turned off 5. You lose volume between tracks. There's no sound leveling or lossless feature 6. This mp3 player has no eq or built in bass boost, all your music will be flat. Sound quality is abysmal . Even while using sound cancelling earbuds and higher end headphones the signal quality is awful. 7. Blue tooth disconnects. Not even 1min into a track and the Bluetooth kept disconnecting. My earbuds were at full power and the mp3 player was fully charged as well. 8. It plays all my music, that's a good thing so compatibility is good 9. File transfer is very easy, don't expect any automated features 10. You get what you pay for

understand that when youre buying this product for 30 bucks, youre making a tradeoff from processing power to storage space the hardware is a little slow compared to my 8GB walkman, but ofc, its just a MP3 player, youre not playing Doom on this thing the real issue is the absurd lack of cohesion revolving around everything software-related with this product. the UI navigation has got to be, hands down, the worst experience i have ever had to deal with, and that somehow makes this a compelling challenge to learn to use, in the same way that Bennett Foddy makes engaging games ive never asked myself if i could replace the operating system of an MP3 player before i mean, look at this thing, and tell me what any of the buttons do trick question, none of them do the same thing consistently from feature to feature, or even moment to moment sometimes the back button is the left arrow, sometimes its the volume key, sometimes you have to press up a couple times and then the play button good luck figuring out how to escape the FM radio the first time want to turn the volume up? assuming youre in the dedicated music playing environment while your song is playing, you need to hold the down key, "VOL," before pressing left and right, as opposed to up and down that wouldnt be so bad to get used to, if it wasnt for the fact that if you use this muscle memory on half of the other sliders in the UI, you will instead go a few pages back and forth through the menus you need to press up and down (on the Menu and Volume buttons), to make your brightness slider go left and right, for example want to turn your volume down? thats right, you need to HOLD the volume key down for a couple seconds, before pressing the left key, ensuring that if you ever need to turn your volume down, you will always suffer a least a small period of uncomfortable pain while you fumble around and wait for the device to catch up you will also have to manually navigate across the entire operating system from wherever you might be, to reach the dedicated media player before you can even have the option to hold the volume buttons' button toggle and the system will always save your current location in the operating systems entire directory, so you will never be able to just turn it on and pause your music, if that wasnt exactly where you were when you last left it in general, if you press the right buttons for the wrong amount of time, you will do the wrong thing, fly to a point in the file system thats a ways from your current playing song and you will have to find your way back to where you were as punishment for your mid inputs if you would like to learn how to operate this mp3 player, there is a manual, but it basically tells you up front that its not their problem if the information in it is wrong, and some of it is, including contradictory instructions on what individual buttons do in the same context, incorrect instructions on how to do basic things and references to buttons that do not exist on the physical device, sometimes all three right next to each other, notably in the - somewhat important - "Music" section, on page 2 of the manual, somehow. physically, this thing is alright. the matte finish seems engineered to absorb your hand grease when you touch it it already had shiny spots on it out of the box just from where the protective film was in contact with it it could maybe do with 2 more buttons, since the UI navigation apparently needs it so badly it has a built in speaker, its as bad as youd expect. still tho, i wasnt expecting it to have that feature it uses a USB-C charger, but it is in no way close to thunderbolt speeds for transferring songs, it took me a period of hours to upload my library of music. bear in mind tho this problem can be easily circumvented by just using a microSD card the real star of the show is the microSD slot, rated for up to 128GB, but i was able to look through a 256GB card filled with 8 years worth of photos at the usual 1 frame per second, at least until it inevitably reached a format it cant read and booted me back to the end of the folder it has bluetooth as well, which is another upgrade from my 8GB walkman the thing that sold me on this product was the review from a mother who said this thing had survived multiple trips through the washing machine, and multiple drops i bought this with the understanding that it is an overpowered nokia phone, and in that regard im not disappointed all in all, its terrible, but functional, and im still not sure if im going to keep it yet or not, even after writing this review. i do have a strange fondness for unnecessarily bad design, in the same way i have a taste for unnecessarily bad music to fill a 32 gigabyte mp3 player with expandable storage.

I've had several versions of Agptek since about 12 years ago, when I purchased Agptek A02 (non-bluetooth). Sice then I also bought Agptek A02ST (with bluetooth), and now this one, Agptec A02XT. I also bought Agptek A09X, which I did not like at all, mainly for being too big and too heavy. All of my Agptek A02 models share identical body, and very similar controls and operating system (with minor tweaks). The noticeable improvements from ST to XT version are change from micro USB to USB-C, much more reliable bluetooth connection, and internal memory increased from 16GB to 32GB. I paired 5 different bluetooth headphones and earbuds with it on first attempt, and they all communicate properly with the player to control volume, pause/play/ skip forward or back etc. What I love about Agptek A02 line of products is their small size and light weight (perfect for running and gym), reliability, durability and storage capacity with added external SIMM card. By the way, I stuck a 256GB card full of music in this player, and it read it flawlessly, so the manufacturer's recommendation of up to 128GB is very conservative. All of my music files are in mp3-320kbps format. It can play lossless flac files too, but I see no reason to do it on a portable player of this class. Sound quality is very good, but not HiFi, with some barely audible electronic hiss in the background. I like the controls wheel (it's not a scroll wheel), that you can feel with your fingers, so you can easily operate it in total darkness. And the battery life is absolutely amazing. I find the user interface easy to use, although definitely old school. So, if you are not comfortable with organizing your files in folders, copying them from a PC, and browsing through them, this player may be not for you. In summary, for under $30 (plus whatever you choose to pay for the SIMM card), it is a bargain.

An excellent MP3 player for the price and size. I wanted something small that I can put in my pocket when I walk or sat on my deck with my AirPods. I know I could just use my phone but this player gives me a break from the phone and it has a small screen and buttons. It is perfect for any physical activity and is light as pen... plus it has a micro SD slot. More than enough room for my music collection. I would recommend this for sure! UPDATE a few weeks later, it freezes quite often. It doesn't recognize my sd card at times. I've reformatted it several times and I'm done with that. It is stuck with playing my albums in shuffle mode. It has become very buggy. I don't think I would buy it again if I had to. Don't throw away the packaging or you are stuck with it!!!!

***Update after 3 month**** The freezing continues to happen - and pretty frequently. Once it was very difficult to even reset it with the paper clip. It also almost always requires me to open the bluetooth settings before my earbuds will connect - no matter which ones I use. It would be really nice if something more along the lines of an iPod, but updated with more storage was available! ***** I got this to replace my almost dead iPod nano. The difference in quality is HUGE, so just be prepared. The player is light weight (plus for my pocket at the gym), but the plastic and dial feel very cheap - so I'm trying to be very careful using it. It feels like it might break easily and it took so long to set up, that would be a disappointment. The transfer process is slow because the player has only usb2. I do appreciate the increased storage. I ended up building my playlists on the card I bought in the hopes of being able to reuse it if this player breaks. I also have a back-up copy of the playlist on my laptop - in case. The speaker is useless other than to let somebody know what song you are talking about, or quickly see it if is one you are thinking of. It is very tinny and distorted - to the point of being unbearable. If you want to build a custom playlist rather than doing the add to playlist for each song (my playlist for the gym is just under 2k songs - so that was a big NO), you must copy the song to your playlist using a computer. It isn't as smart as the iPod where it just keeps a list of the song titles and not a copy of the song. So I ended up moving the songs so as not to take up the space for 2 lossless copies. You are still able to see the song under the artist and album categories even if some of the songs are in the playlist and some aren't and some are in internal storage and some are on the card, so that is good. The player has frozen a couple of times, but there is a hardware reset on the back and I was able to reset each time and it went back to working. I just now keep a paper clip in my gym bag because working out without music makes the time drag! It was a little confusing to figure out how to shuffle my playlist, but I finally found how in the instructions in a weird location. You actually have to do it while a song is playing. I am still going through my shuffled playlist without having to restart it (I did restart it when I added songs to get the new ones in the rotation) across many days and even having turned the player off and back on. I think the sound is good with my wireless earbuds, but true audiophiles probably wouldn't - even with songs in the lossless format, but I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality. I also appreciate having a wired headphone capability for times like travelling where wireless isn't preferred. The battery last longer using wired headphones. Overall, this is pretty much what I expected for the price and I don't regret getting it gym workouts and casual listening.

Está bastante bien el mp3, la verdad si me sorprendió. El sonido se escucha muy bien con los audífonos, ya sin ellos la calidad si no es la mejor, pero es aceptable. Pensé que sería un poco más grande, pero está perfecto de ese tamaño. Si lo recomiendo si no quieres gastar en productos tan caros como los de Sony :v, además de si solamente quieres escuchar música sin tener que pagar nada. Eso si, no he probado el bluetooth porque la verdad no me interesa ya que prefiero audífonos de cable.

Bit small but my 9 year old loves it, ear phones aren’t any good for kids , recommend to buying headphones. Easy to handle, good products and fast delivery
