It kept me attached throughout the series. A well presented series. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compulsive viewing *by T***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 20 May 2008* Death Note is the first anime series that I have seen that I have read the manga for beforehand and I must say that in my view, from what I have seen here the series has the potential to be just as good if not better. This first volume of the series contains the first eight episodes of this series about a brilliantly intelligent boy (Light Yagami) who finds a Death Note, a notebook belonging to a Death God that will kill anyone whose name is written in the book. Light uses the Death Note to rid the world of evil but his actions draw the attention of the genius detective known only as L and the game begins.I am really enjoying reading the manga of this series and this adaptation is a great attempt at bringing it to the screen with some very good animation, a brilliantly evocative score and some above average voice acting. If the series has a flaw it is that it is slightly over the top in places and for some reason the first few episodes are somewhat lacklustre but the series soon picks up and becomes thoroughly engrossing.
