Dire Wolf Uprising Expansion

Not too much to say really. Mine arrived in perfect sealed condition with all contents. There’s better places to find reviews on the game itself, but if you liked the first game then this is a no brainer. I wouldn’t blind buy recommend any game. I wouldn’t say this game is hard to grasp, but there’s a learning curve to understanding the ins and outs of the strategy.

I really admire: Wide range of strategies. There are many mechanics. I mean really many: 1. Nine leaders, each with one active and one passive skill. 2. Deck cards (nearly all of them are unique) 3. Intrigue cards 4. Conflict cards 5. Contracts 6. Agents 7. Spies 8. Four factions 9. Three areas 10. Three different resources. 11. Soldiers 12. Sandworms 13. Persuasion That brings different ways of gaining advantage over your opponents, spoiling their plans and obtaining keys to victory. Yet, your opponents also have arsenal of weapons and tools. The mind games of weaving your plans through the plans of your opponents feels great. Potential for replaying. While chosen leaders add much to shaping strategies, yet each game is going to be unique since the cards in personal decks will be different every time. What I would improve: Slight balance asymmetry. Areas of Landsraad and faction of Emperor seem to be somewhat less appealing if compared to other areas and factions. (As I have seen on the review of add-on "Dune: Imperium Bloodlines", this issue has been recognized and dealt with)

One of the best board game out there if you love strategy and deck-building. Uprising adds even more depth and tension to the base game without overcomplicating things. Every decision feels meaningful, and the new mechanics keep each play fresh and competitive. If you’re into strategic games, this one’s a must-have.

Great game hands down one of the best work replacement games.

I am already bananas over Dune: Imperium but after playing Uprising, which feels like a much tighter, fraught experience where resources like Water are even more precious. The addition of spies is really cool and though I’ve only played it once, I can tell you I already like it better and we didn’t even get to tame any worms!? Not only that but the Imperium deck seems to have far more interesting cards in it than the Imperium deck from Dune: Imperium as well as more fully realized Leader cards. Also combat plays a far greater role than in the previous version of Dune: Imperium from Dire Wolf. I was absolutely obsessed with a different version of this game from Avalon Hill that I bought in the early 80s but this version of Dune is far more interesting and Shown are custom tokens for the Alliances from BuyTheSameToken.

Lets be clear, while nowhere the complex, fans only, game of the older (1980's) one, neither Dune Imperium game is intended for "casual gamers" Its dynamics have several moving parts, it is highly asymmetrical, and there IS a learning curve. Beyond that it is dynamic and fun and IF you have the time and patience it can be a great experience. The real question for many is, which is better; Uprising or the original, and IF I have the 1st, is it worthwhile to upgrade? Uprising is a better game, the minor changes and the inclusion of the sandworms are without a doubt solid if mostly subtle improvements. If you are NEW to the game, then yes, ABSOLUTELY go with Uprising, but for older players, these are somewhat pricy, and I'd recommend playing first before you decide if its worth it because in reality, both are great.

This game is by far one of my favorites, all my friends love it and although it can be confusing at first once we all knew how and what to do the replay ability of it is awesome. Would recommend

Escelente jogo

Ottimo gioco, lo avevo preso di mira fin dal primo annuncio. Molto complesso, è vero, però è davvero completo e variabile. Nessuna partita è mai uguale all'altra. Questa versione è in inglese ma prossimamente verrà anche tradotto, tuttavia si parla di un inglese molto semplice che non costituisce una barriera linguistica. La qualità delle pedine e delle carte è molto buona.

Es ist nicht umsonst ganz oben dabei, bei BGG. Das erste Spiel dauert länger, aber die Regeln sind an sich logisch und gut erklärt. Die Box des Brettspiels kam zwar etwas ramponiert für die 80 € die ich gezahlt habe und hatten etwas Sand, aber immerhin ist es sehr thematisch. Kann das Spiel auf jeden fall weiterempfehlen, auch wenn man die Filme nicht gesehen hat, aber ein cooles Sci-Fi Setting will. Man sollte aber beachten das es schwieriger ist und man sich erst mal auf dem Spielplan zurecht finden muss.

Excelente compra ... o jogo base é estratégico e superior a versão anterior ... agora com muito mais opção para pontuar ... recomendo
