Review: Not looking for "showroom"- only want to be able to see... - My 12 year old 2001 Civic with over 100,000 miles had the dreaded "yellow headlight lens" syndrome. I'd noticed it some time ago, but one of the bulbs going out finally motivated me to do something about it. After reading about lots of products, it seems most all of them work well, but don't last very long. So I decided to go cheap and easy, but with a sealer. (If I'm going to have to redo it periodically, I don't want to spend an hour every six months or so.) Blue Magic Restorer (725CD-06) and Sealer (730-6) looked like they'd be easy and cheap. I just hoped they would work. On my car, I must say I'm very impressed by how well they worked! I did the first treatment by hand, which removed most of the yellow. I then did the second with a cheap buffer on a drill, which made them clear. The surface still feels pitted, but they look more like clear plastic compared to the old frosted shower glass appearance they started with. The sealer has made them look like clear glass (though still not glassy smooth on the surface). My headlights now look nicer than the rest of my car! The only thing which would make me happier is if this lasts longer than a year. If I don't update this, all is good.

**Q: Why is the plastic bottle collapsing upon trying to open it?**
A: Yes , the bottle is pretty thin plastic material, if you haven’t used it for a while, the tip dispenser gets clogged up, or the bottles screw top threads got some liquid and it has dried … run some hot water on the top and try to unscrew the white top , once removed then use a paper clip push it thru the dispenser hole to clean out the hard polishing cream .

**Q: Good buffing pad that works with this?**
A: Paper towels, surprisingly. I tried using a microfiber cloth but it left my headlights foggy after trying to buff it out. Paper towels cleared them right up.

**Q: How many lenses will this do? Front and back?**
A: Hard to say. Depends on the severity of the lenses and size. I found my bottle at dollar general. Works okay. I'd invest in an actual kit if your lights are severe. Doesn't last long either.

**Q: Is this for the plastic headlights or the glass?**
A: It's for plastic headlight lenses that are on cars.  It helps clean the plastic lens when it gets cloudy, due to UV rays, etc.

I used this product on my 03 maxima with a little bit of oxidation and it cleaned it up alright. I also used this on my mom's monte carlo which was pretty heavily oxidized and it did help quite a bit. Her car probably needs a motherball or 3m package to get it really cleaned up. The label recommends using 2000 wet sand paper for harder jobs. 4 stars because it didn't produce "like new" results but did do decent work. update: I redid the same cars. It looks like this needs to be done every six months. This is not a permanent solution but is cheaper than purchasing new headlights. I didn't expect it to be a permanent solution but I didn't realize it either. I didn't time myself as to how long the job took but I was able to do both cars in under an hour and still have over half the bottle left after doing 4 headlights. So one bottle should last about 16 headlights (cleaned 4 headlights x 2 times I've cleaned them with about half the bottle left). I added pictures and I used cheap paper towels. You may have better results with a rag, pad, or something sturdier.
