I needed a powered USB hub to add to my Mac. Only 4 hubs. Nothing too expensive. However, I wanted the best bang for the buck. I didn't want to overspend on a name brand if I didn't have to.After researching different hubs on Amazon for about 30 minutes, I stumbled upon this little guy that though it didn't have a lot of purchase history, it was rated well. At the time of purchase, there were only 5 reviews and they were all five 5-star. That was enough to motivate me to blindly purchase this hub.There really is nothing exceptional about this hub other than the fact that it works exceptionally well. I mean, it's well constructed but it doesn't look fancy. It's small. It's simple. It's the kind of thing you keep hidden away than out in the open.What I like about this hub is that it has on/off switches on every input. Why is this a great thing? With every USB device you plug into one of these hubs, it draws power and resources from your computer. You may not want 4 devices running at once. So, instead of plugging and unplugging each device you don't want to use, you instead just turn off a corresponding switch. Much easier!To date, no problems with this USB device. Every port works. It seems like it's going to hold up long-term.The only negative I can give is that the power plug has a very bright red light on it. If you can't hide it, it's going to cause some illumination issues.In all, yet another 5-star review for a great hub that you might have otherwise passed by for a name-brand. Go for this instead!

I have an older KATUMO 4+1 USB3 hub with LEDs for each port but 3x of the LEDs completely failed. Also, the older KATUMO turns ports on with a click button: tap = on, press and hold 2secs = off. For my old hubs ports with dead LEDs, it is hard to tell if they are on or off since the buttons give no indication as they just click. Note, when all the LEDs worked, they were very bright.The new RSHTECH RSH-516 USB3 Hub has buttons that extend above the hub slightly, when a port button is pressed down it turns the port on and locks at a lower level almost flush with the hub's body. Pressing the button down again will release the button back to it's higher level and turn the port off. What's really nice about the new RSHTECH buttons is *if* the LEDs fail, the buttons will physically indicate their state: pressed in = on, out = off.The RSHTECH LEDs are not bright at all unlike my older hub. If a USB cable is blocking my direct view of the LED, I can't see the blue light. This is what I want, a just bright enough LED for each port.Also, the RSHTECH has an aluminum body that is much smaller than my older 4+1 hub's plastic body. The RSHTECH also has a detachable USB3 data cable so I can use longer cables or a right angle cable if needed.I did some basic USB3 data speed tests using a USB drive and phone comparing a direct port connection and connection via the RSHTECH. USB-A and USB-C, indicator lights, powered, works great for charging or data expansion

This 7-port USB 3.2/3.0 hub has been the ideal addition to my system because I am always transferring large multimedia files to and from my computers. This 7 port hub, which is an upgrade from a prior no-name 4 port hub, operates with the same dependability and transfer speeds when using the USB 3.2 ports.The simplicity of having two more USB-C connections that let me carry fewer wires for various devices is something I particularly value. Additionally, the dual USB-A/USB-C input cord made switching between my iPad Pro and desktop computers easy and eliminated the need for an adapter or switching cables.The item seems sturdy despite being constructed of plastic, and the blue LEDs glow nicely without being overly bright. Its slim design and detachable cable make it incredibly portable and stowable. Additionally, if you have an ancient spinning drive or other power-hungry device, the accompanying 5V power adapter is a wonderful choice. Nevertheless, I have been able to operate the hub regularly using only the computer bus power. It operated a Samsung NVME SSD and a WD Elements external drive in an enclosure flawlessly, with no discernible slowdown in data transfer.Because the ports are situated on top, using one hand to plug and unplug devices is simple. Yes, that is how lazy I am. A fast touch for "on" and a two-second hold for "off" will make using the soft touch power buttons surprisingly simple and responsive. After utilizing the hub with a variety of devices, I soon realized how convenient it was to leave them plugged in and simply use the power buttons to turn each device on or off. At first, I didn't understand why the hub had power buttons but now I love them.Overall, having this hub on my desktop has been enjoyable. My expectations have been pleasantly met in terms of both performance and convenience. It has been operating beautifully up to this point and transfers data at the 3.2 and 3.0 speeds that were promised. On both my Mac and PC, it simply plugs and plays without requiring the installation of any extra drivers or software. This 7-port hub is a no-brainer for those of you with more recent computers that have few USB ports, especially at this low cost. Strongly advised.Well constructed, the power and connection cords appear to be of good quality, the hub's markings are easy to read, and the USB, USB 3, and USB-C ports are all prominently displayed. I adore that you have the option to turn off or turn on the devices you wish to be online separately. Both PCs and Macs can use the powered hub. The device barely takes up any room on my desk and is around the size of one of my SSD drives. I'd suggest this gadget to anyone in need of a powered hub. Additionally, the setup was really simple—it was plug-and-play.

I bought this mostly to separate some of my several USB Wi-Fi dongles (keyboard, Fitbit, headphones) so that they don't interfere with each other, and for my USB light strip that provides light under my monitor while streaming content and playing games.I don't know how well this hub will work for charging devices. It should, I suppose, because it has it's own power cord but I'm not certain using the hub while powering all ports with several devices connected is a good idea.For me, however, I just use it for devices that don't require a lot of power -- my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongles and my USB light strip. I really like that each port has its own on/off switch -- I turn the light strip off when I shut my computer down. I have a motherboard that keeps USB power on even when the computer is off, so the hub switches are very handy. Also, the hub frees up several USB ports on my computer that might need full power for other devices, such as an external hard drive, for example.I would definitely purchase this product again. It works very well and appears to be of good build quality.[Update Nov 2020: The USB ports still work perfectly along with the on/off switches, however, not long after my purchase two of the four blue indicator lights that show a port active no longer work. Very minor detail but surprised by this. I might still purchase this one if I needed it again because the construction, ports, and on/off switches are all very good, very solid.]

UPDATE - Taking away two stars. Today, October 3, 2020, this hub was found to be the problem when loud speaker buzzing greeted me upon opening my laptop. I tested the speakers without the hub and they were fine, and I tested the laptop sound and it was fine. So - the problem was the middleman - the USB hub. It's now in its box. I can use it someday for something I am sure, but with caution because there is obviously something akimbo in the electronics and the current flow. With it in the chain to my laptop, when I touch the speaker jack into the port for it on my MacBookPro the low buzz sounds again, so no go. Too bad - because this was a great solution to battery heat on the laptop. I will leave my original review here as well. I imagine the problem is quality control and some are good and some are not.I like that it is powered and tiny. The four USB ports having their own power switch is so cool. I wanted this to plug in the USB for my speakers, rather than power them through the laptop. Reason being the laptop stayed warm even when no one was on it because of the speakers pulling power through the laptop battery for the speaker lights. When I figured this out I decided to power them with a powered hub and plug the sound in the jack. Works fine. :) I don't have the hub plugged into my laptop at all. But when the need arises I shall certainly use it that way too. No idea what the guy was talking about who said you'd need another cord. I don't have a really new laptop and this thing plugs into my USB 2 port just fine - I tested it with its own USB cord - the cordage is all under the device in the cute little box it comes with, For this price I was very happy. I put the glasses there to really see the scale of this thing. :)

Compact little USB hub with individual switches per port and vertical orientation like I wanted. Problem is I ordered this to use with four 8bitdo Bluetooth adapters, and after plugging them in quickly realized my controllers no longer worked unless I was a foot or two away. Thinking the adapters were too close together I only plugged one in, and had the exact same issue. Switching to a different USB hub restored the normal 30+ foot range, so I can only assume this one was generating some kind of EMF that affected the 2.4ghz range.

Siempre usen la fuente de alimentación con sus puertos Hub. Se los digo por experiencia así les va a durar más años. Ya llevo como un año con este Puerto y ha estado excelente.
