I bought it to reclaim desk space as my Acer XR342CK monitor (34 inch ultrawide monitor) has a gigantic stand footprint that was eating up way too much space.I've only had it installed for a day but I can say that the build quality top notch - the arm, mount, clamp and bolts are all metal and the allen-key screws are heavy duty to the point where while I was heavily tightening them I wasn't worried that I was going to strip them and be unable to easily change or move it. The height adjustment is a bit of a pain in the ass as it has two allen-key bolts that you have to loosen in order to move it up and down and the monitor arm is heavy even without a monitor on it - really really listen to the instructions that tells you to do it before you put the monitor on and I would also say to adjust it before you even install it on your desk. Hold it on the desk, find the height you want and then adjust the height before it's installed.The arm swings smoothly and is easy to adjust with good reach to add/remove cables without smashing your face into the monitor/desk or getting your knuckles bloodied. I didn't need the ability to continually adjust the monitor position and so the fixed arm position works for me. The documentation says the arm holds up to 35 pounds and feeling the weight and build of the arm I would have no concerns about it. The clamp that goes under the desk is probably 1 cm (1/3 inch) thick steel and goes far enough under the desktop to really give it a solid hold without any concerns. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good *by G***C on Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2018* This is an excellent stand for larger monitors.I used this with the Samsung CHG70 32" inch monitor, which comes with a quality but freaking huge stand that takes up huge amounts of desk space. If you have similar issues with your monitor, this is worth checking out.I also own the Amazon Basics monitor arm, which has fantastic quality, but I mostly wanted the monitor mounted dead center and didn't need all of the flexibility offered by that model. The issue I had was, in order for the mount to be dead center with the screen back, I either needed to raise the monitor to a height that was approaching awkward or I needed to swing the arms behind the mounting pole, which caused the arms to extend a good 5 or 6 inches behind the desk...which meant I had to move the desk that much further from the wall. Did not want to do that.With this mount I don't have that issue. I can keep the desk close to the wall, have some height adjustment and have the monitor dead center with the mounting pole. which looks (to me), aesthetically, the best solution.Thoughts & Impressions:The mounting pole/base looks almost like plastic in the pictures, but it's actually pretty heavy duty (what I'm assuming is) steel. Build quality seems pretty solid.Most pain-free installation of any aftermarket monitor arm/stand that I've used. Went by very quickly. YMMVThe cable routing channel in the back was 100% pain free. I didn't use the included cable ties but rather just routed the cables into the grove and slid the plastic cover down the groove through the top. Took like 10 seconds. Awesome. No awkward plastic covers that clip on and off and shallow cable channels that can't hold a DP, HDMI, and power cable at once. The box also came with some other cable management thingies but I wasn't sure what they were or where they went and I was too lazy to read the manual thoroughly.There's no logo on the base. Thank you. I don't want to look at that all the time.The mount is a little expensive compared to comparable offerings, but it has what seems to be a unique design.The gaming lingo in the manual was a bit... much, but whatever.The clamping mechanism is kinda weird, but it's mostly there to keep the stand from tilting forward as the base seems large enough to /almost/ free-stand alone.I only wish the monitor arm extended down another inch or two to offer a little bit more flexibility, but it's nothing I can't live with. I suspect this would be a little bit more of an issue with a 34" ultra wide, which is smaller in height than my 32". It also will depend on the positioning of the mounting holes on your monitor and whether they're dead center, slightly higher, or slightly lower.I'm surprised that the base didn't come with little rubber feet that you attach to keep the desk surface from being marred. Seems like an oversight ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product *by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2018* I decided to buy this mount after reading other reviews indicating that it was heavy duty and pretty secure for large monitor mounts compared to other mounts available at this price point.Out of the box, it was clear that the heavy-duty claim was true. This thing is hefty. All of the hardware was pre-separated which was nice – I didn’t have to dig through a bag to find what I needed. Installation went about as fast as the listing claimed. Directions were funny and easy-to-follow, so I had it up and working in about 45 minutes total. (It would have been a little faster, but I had a question about desk compatibility. A quick call to the customer support line steered me straight. Also, I have to be honest: It was nice chatting with someone that was genuinely friendly, spoke English and was clearly knowledgeable about the product. Based on my experience and other reviews I read, customer service seems to be a big strength for Echogear, which I really appreciate.)I love being able to switch back and forth between having my screen in landscape or portrait. Screen movement is super smooth. Since this mount was just for my work desk, I didn’t need much beyond that, but fluid height adjustment would be nice. (This mount is set and forget. It’s not hard to adjust, but once you adjust the height, it locks in place.) So far I’m happy with the functionality of this mount. Getting my monitor off my desk has opened up a bunch of space, and the adjustability is nice because I can move it based on how/where I’m sitting.
