Mastering Bitcoin: Programming the Open Blockchain [Antonopoulos, Andreas M., Harding, David A.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Mastering Bitcoin: Programming the Open Blockchain Review: Foundational reading material for cryptocurrency - There’s no escaping that cryptocurrency is the money of the future. Actually, a lot of it is in the present already. Not wanting to be left out, this book was recommended to me. I have started into it and I’m really enjoying it. Professor Antonopoulos is well known for his knowledge and teaching skills. You can’t do better than this book. Review: Canonical Textbook - I still need to finish reading the bitcoinbook3 from A to Z. However, this week, it helped me solve an impossible code challenge from Chaincode Labs. The challenge was absolutely out of the realms of GPT4 knowledge base, but using the search engine from the Kindle app and typing the keyword "descriptors", the book delivered the exact information I needed to find my way through a taproot problem and have the GitHub autograder evaluate my solution as correct. It is fundamental to me to possess the official version in my pocket and be able to Ctrl+F through the material in my day-to-day practice in Bitcoin. This is the base, the most important reference in the field, which deserves dedicated educational programs for thorough exploration. It is a pre-requisite for all serious Bitcoin developer programs in existence. Mastering Bitcoin, from day one, has always been the scalar element in the career of a Bitcoin developer and technically inclined bitcoin users. This is the start and the zenith of your Bitcoin journey...

So what is bitcoin?
This is not an easy read (not a dig at the author at all - my head did explode twice trying to grasp elliptical addition) but it is a necessary read. Bitcoin is here to stay and we are still at the early end of things. This book tells it like it is. If you are going to buy BTC, at least put the book on your shelf so that other people are tricked into thinking you really do what you are getting into.

Good reference book but 'mastering bitcoin' is a definite case of overpromising
Lots and lots of detail on Bitcoin inner workings, but you'll not be a 'master' of bitcoin programming with this book. A good reference to use in conjunction with other bitcoin/crypto currency documentation.

Great developer's intro to Bitcoin
This book is a great developer's intro to Bitcoin, starting with an overall explanation of how bitcoin works. Personally, I think it's worth it for that explanation, but then also gets into how to start your own Bitcoin stack.

This is truly the best book to truly understand the programming behind bitcoin.
Of all the resources on bitcoin, this is the best and primary resource for learning how bitcoin works. What I like most about it is even though it's aimed towards programmers, they provide plenty of analogies and examples to break it down so that you don't get lost. The first few chapters do a fantastic job of explaining the main idea for the non-programmer. After that, it gets deep into the actual nuts and bolts of how everything works in the background. This book (in my opinion) is the primary resource for any school that is trying to teach how bitcoin works.
