FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I've been testing a LOT of wireless microphones over the years, so I'm always a little skeptical when I see a wireless system that promises professional features at a fraction of the price. Enter the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U True Diversity Wireless System. First impressions? I'm impressed. The build quality immediately caught my attention. The receiver and handheld transmitters feel solid and substantial, and the rack-mountable receiver is a really nice touch for a professional DJ or live-event setup. Setup was incredibly easy. The auto-scan finds an available frequency, IR sync pairs the transmitter, and you're basically ready to go. And the sound? Clear, full, powerful, and surprisingly professional for a system in this price range. The true diversity circuitry also gives me a lot more confidence when I'm moving around a room or working a larger event. I got great range on the system, even through walls and other obstructions. There was absolutely NO feedback, even when standing directly in front of a full QSC PA setup with tops and subs, pushing 11,000 watts. Holding the mic a little off axis from your mouth, or just below your lower lip - in front of your chin eliminates any problem with plosives. I've always believed you don't necessarily have to spend the most money to get professional results—and the PTU-2U is a pretty good example of that. This is just my first impression, but so far, Phenyx Pro has definitely gotten my attention. I'll be putting it through more real-world DJ and event testing and seeing how it performs when the pressure is on. Stay tuned… this one looks like a serious value.

Good budget wireless
Works well for budget wireless but if you rack mount it you will need a kit for bringing the antenna to the front

Game-Changer for Small Churches on a Tight Tech Budget!
I’m the worship leader at a church running about 30-50 people on Sunday mornings. Like most small churches, our tech budget is minimal, and we don’t have a full-time sound engineer—usually, it’s a willing volunteer running our board. We desperately needed to upgrade our aging, drop-out-prone 2.4GHz wireless mics. We needed two reliable channels: 1. A solid handheld microphone for worship lead/announcements. 2. A bodypack system for our pastor to wear a headset or lapel mic while preaching. After looking at the major big-name brands and realizing two channels of true diversity wireless would run us well over $1,000, we decided to give the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U-1H1B a shot. Honestly, at this price point, I was cautiously optimistic—but it has blown our expectations out of the water. Setup & Ease of Use (10/10) Out of the box, the build quality immediately stood out. The receiver chassis and the handheld mic are all-metal and feel like tanks. Setup took maybe 10 minutes total: Auto-Scan & IR Sync: You push the auto-scan button on the receiver, it finds a clean local frequency, and then you hold the mic up to the IR window to sync. It’s so straightforward that even our non-tech volunteers can handle re-syncing if needed. Rack Mountable: It fits right into our standard rack setup without taking up a ton of space (1U). Sound Quality & Wireless Performance True Diversity Is Key: Because this is a True Diversity UHF system (operating in the 500MHz band rather than crowded 2.4GHz Wi-Fi space), dropouts have been non-existent. Our pastor walks into the aisles during sermons and near heavy steel beams in our building—zero static, pops, or signal drops. Handheld Vocal Mic: Clarity is warm and full-bodied for vocals. It handles high SPL (loud singing) without distortion and rejects off-axis stage bleed reasonably well. Bodypack / Headset: The included headset microphone works great for preaching. Speech intelligibility is crisp, and we don't have to fight feedback loops through our main PA speakers like we did with our old lapel mic. What We Love: True Diversity at a fraction of the cost: Reliable signal across our sanctuary and back into the foyer (~150 ft test with solid line-of-sight). Lock Function: You can lock the channel settings on the receiver front panel. This prevents curious kids or volunteers from accidentally bumping knobs or changing frequencies mid-service. Uses AA Batteries: No proprietary rechargeable packs that die mid-service; just standard AAs that last easily through 2-3 Sunday morning run-throughs. Minor Considerations: Gain Staging: The bodypack gain settings are sensitive. Take 5 minutes during soundcheck to balance the volume on the pack before tweaking the mixer fader. Included Lapel vs. Headset: The included lapel mic is decent, but for preaching/teaching, stick to the headset mic. Headsets stay consistent with mouth distance and give far better gain-before-feedback. The Bottom Line If you run a small-to-medium church, mobile ministry, or school auditorium and need dependable, professional UHF wireless audio without destroying your annual budget, buy this set. It feels premium, sounds clean, and gives our team total peace of mind on Sunday mornings. Highly recommended!

Totally underrated mic system
I’ve been really impressed with the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U-1H1B system, especially when it comes to audio clarity and how easy it is to get up and running. The microphone quality is surprisingly clean and crisp for the price point. Vocals come through clearly without sounding muddy or overly compressed, which makes it a great option for speaking engagements, live performances, or even small events. There’s minimal interference, and the signal stays consistent even when moving around. Setup is straightforward and user-friendly. Everything is pretty intuitive right out of the box—pairing the system and getting levels set takes just a few minutes, even if you’re not super technical. One of the biggest highlights for me is the included bodypack and headset mic. The hands-free setup is incredibly convenient and works great for situations where mobility is important. The headset is comfortable enough for extended use and maintains solid audio pickup without needing constant adjustment. Overall, this system offers great value with reliable performance, clear sound, and a hassle-free setup process.
